The idea is that the grapefruits, in conjunction with the other foods eaten while on the Grapefruit Diet, will come together to create a fat burning effect in the body and rapid weight loss will then ensue.
The Grapefruit Diet allows for only a limited amount of caffeine each day and cuts out all sugars and starches. Dieters are not allowed to eat in between meals but are encouraged to eat until they feel “stuffed” during meal time.

Is the Grapefruit Diet Easy to Follow?If you like the bitter taste of a lot of grapefruits and don’t mind being restricted to basically no carbohydrates then the Grapefruit Diet is easy to follow. However, for the majority of those out there, the diet is too restrictive in nature.
Any diet that restricts what you can eat and cuts out whole groups of foods is a hard one to follow. In no time at all your cravings will be hitting you hard and if you lack self control then you will likely not make it to the end of the 12 days.
