Skinny Coffee Club Review

Skinny Coffee Club Review

Skinny Coffee ReviewThe Skinny Coffee Club is a weight loss drink in the form of coffee! For many people who love coffee this might be music to your ears, but how effective is this product when it is all said and done? The company is based out of the UK. Currently it has ships to over 145 countries worldwide, and also found on Amazon. As marketed, this coffee drink is meant to reduce cravings and control hunger. Also said to create a slimming effect on the body in just one week’s time. The only means to contacting customer service is through an e-mail address ([email protected]) which makes communication about any issues rather hard.

How Does The Skinny Coffee Club Work?

First, I was curious about the variety of products this company offers to the customer. They offer decaf blends, mocha blends, and their original weight loss coffee blend. The coffee is sold in a program setting. For example, you have the option to purchase an intensive 7 day weight loss program that gives you everything you will need for 7 solid days.

They claim the coffee will help you lose weight, feel better from just one mug, reduce fatigue, banish cravings, and speed up your metabolism.

The Super Skinny Bundle

64.95 British Pounds

With this bundle you can choose from a 28 day supply, an 8 week supply, or a 12 week supply. You will have the choice between either ground or instant coffee. A workout E-book is included as well. All of the coffee coming in the different bundles below is essentially the same blend.

The Day and Night Weight Loss Program

39.95 British Pounds

With this program it contains the same time frame as above (28 days, 8 weeks, or 12 weeks) and there is a day and night program. Ground and Instant coffee is also another choice in this program. A workout E-book is included as well.

Original Weight Loss Program

With this program there is only one option, and that is to purchase the 28 day system for 27.95 British Pounds. A workout E-book is included as well.

Intensive 7 Day Weight Loss Program

This program is only 7 days long, and it costs 29.95 British Pounds. This program is targeted just for women looking to drop unwanted weight within a week, so what about the guys? They do not say. There are three different coffees to take throughout the day: Morning- Rise and Grind, Lunch: Suppresso Shot, and before bedtime: Sleeping Brew-ty which is of course decaf. It also comes with a workout guide and calendar.

To wrap up, there is a night only edition which is named the “Night Edition” and it is strictly decaf coffee and it costs 24.95 British Pounds. There is also a Chocolate Mocha Weight Loss Program for 24.95 which comes in the 4,8, or 12 week program and this flavor also comes in the day and night program for 39.95 British Pounds.

The Bottom Line: There are a variety of programs and products to try out. With this specific product, you will be drinking coffee and there is no real workout regiment that is pushed on the customer for additional weight loss. The programs range from 4-12 weeks and they cost anywhere from 24 to 64 British Pounds depending on the time frame you purchase.

Is The Skinny Coffee Club Safe?

When looking at their bundles and programs, it seems as if they have thought of quite literally everything! The company does not directly show information about ingredients on the product page.  A trend within the blends are garcinia cambogia which is an appetite suppressor that doesn’t always sit well with people. Alongside of that ingredient, there are also large amounts of caffeine present (not in the decaf) which can also have an effect on the body. Always check with your doctor before taking GC, or larger amounts of caffeine.

Original “includes the following ingredients: Ground Coffee, Ground Green Coffee Bean Extract, Green Tea Extract Powder, Garcinia Cambogia, Siberian Ginseng Powder and Spirulina Powder.”

“Skinny Coffee Night Edition includes the following ingredients: Decaffeinated Ground Coffee, Fennel, Spirulina and Chlorella.”

Mocha “includes the following ingredients: Instant coffee, sugar, sweet whey powder (milk), fat-reduced cocoa powder 14.5%, garcinia cambogia, green tea extract, siberian ginseng, skimmed-milk powder, salt, thickener (E 466), anti-caking agent (E 551), flavouring.”

Rise & Grind Ingredients: Bulking Agent (Maltodextrin), Instant Coffee, Glucomannan (Konjac mannan), Caffeine † , Ascorbic Acid, Zinc Citrate, Nicotinamide. Contains caffeine (89mg per serving). Not recommended for children or pregnant women.”

Suppresso Ingredients: Bulking Agent (Maltodextrin), Instant Coffee † , Glucomannan (Konjac mannan), Ascorbic Acid, Calcium D-pantothenate, Zinc Citrate, Nicotinamide. † Contains caffeine (40mg per serving). Not recommended for children or pregnant women.”

Sleeping Brew-ty Ingredients: Ingredients: Bulking Agent (Maltodextrin), Instant Decaffeinated Coffee, Glucomannan (Konjac mannan), Choline Bitartrate, Ascorbic Acid, Zinc Citrate, Nicotinamide.”

The Bottom Line: This product is clearly not for everyone, and it targets women who are not pregnant. Overall there are no controversial ingredients per say, but Garcinia Cambogia is a weight loss agent that has side effects such as headaches, nausea, diarrhea, and upset stomach.

Pros and Cons of Skinny Coffee Club

When looking at the price point of this coffee and the ingredients, it seems a little expensive. There are a large variety of garcinia cambogia pills for really cheap on the market today. Then you can drink your normal coffee for almost the same effect. I am not saying to literally try this, due to health risks but it gives you an idea of the company’s markups to make money. Overall, this is a major con that will overshadow a lot of the pros. On the flip side, one pro might be the marketing tactic and the convenience of drinking a weight loss product, as it is doable for even those with the busiest of schedules.

The Bottom Line: There are more cons than pros with this expensive coffee blend, and not a lot of results have been tied to actual weight loss success stories.

What a great idea initially. Will it forever change your weight loss and your waist line? Probably not. This product is loaded with caffeine and appetite suppressors. This will not set you up for healthy weight loss long term. It may take the edge off (with a few minor side effects), but it will not dramatically change your life. On that note, it is also very expensive for the ingredients you are actually getting, which is another major turn off. All in all, this is a great idea but it might be too  expensive and not effective enough to actually make it worth it!

Isopure Review

Isopure supplement review

Isopure Supplement Protein Supplement

Protein is an essential part of nutrition for the body each and every day, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that there are a lot of products on the market in the form of a protein supplement. Isopure is one of those supplements, and the company touts its product as being pure, lactose free, and free of fat and carbs. Many protein powders come with hidden carbohydrates and calories that many of us just do not want to have in our diet, so this is the main hook line with the Isopure, and it has attracted so many people in the door.

The company was founded in 1984 by two men named Hal and Ernie, and their headquarters are based out of New York. The company sells its products at a few major retail locations such as GNC, Amazon, Body, and Vitamin Shoppe locations. Let’s dive into the actuals about the Isopure protein products.

The Isopure line comes in the form of powders or actual drinks. Below I will break down both the powder and the drinks as well as their costs. They are simple orders, and each of the powders and drinks have their own set of instructions for use so please read them depending on the product you are interested in.

Is Isopure Safe?About Isopure

Based off of their ingredient lists (available online), and their reviews this product is safe. There were many solid reviews regarding flavors and how it makes the body feel overall. It is marketed as a clean supplement all over the board. There are no real side effects that will affect your health poorly. Some said the main protein supplement (chocolate and vanilla flavors) were less sweet than your average protein powders on the market today. They are sweetened with sucralose, and either water or your milk of choice.

The Bottom Line: The entire line of Isopure products is clean and safe to try out.

Pros and Cons of Isopure

With this specific product line, Isopure doesn’t have any major cons minus the cost really and the subtle taste. The products have been said to taste good overall, and they do their jobs as marketed. I am combining these two sections together because there are not a lot of cons due to the neutralism that the company provides the customer. The subtle taste may also be a pro for some people who do not like a lot of sweet and intense flavor from their supplements.

The Bottom Line: If you are sensitive to soy or don’t like sucralose, this might not be the product for you. If you do not have any dietary restrictions this is a good option for you with more pros than cons and good overall flavor choices.

Isopure is a nice company with nice products for the customer to choose from. The flavor profiles are appealing, and the different options for sizing and cost are nice as well. If you want to buy the protein in bulk you are able to do so, but if you only want 14 oz. you can also go that route too. Isopure is sold in many large retail locations, as well as online so it is easy to try out if you are interested. Isopure is not a large gamble, and the company does not rope you into a subscription service to buy their products. Buy at your leisure and enjoy!

Munchery Review

Munchery Review

Munchery Delivery System

Munchery is a meal delivery system that offers both meal kits and pre-made meals right to your doorstep. This is unique in the meal delivery world, as many companies do not offer both of those options at the same time.  There are no special allergen options to choose from with Munchery such as Gluten free, Vegan, or Paleo so the meals are straight forward and come as is. The company prides itself on creating fast 15 minute meals (if they come in a kit) that the customer can prepare, just like its competitor Gobble. Unlike Gobble, you cannot add on any special items such as soup, dessert, or a kids option and there are no vegetarian options either.

Founded in 2011 by CEO James Beriker, the company has run into a few bumps along the way such as closing down delivery services in some large cities and letting roughly 30% of their staff go as a result of the closures. The company touts its services on same day delivery, unlike its competitors that deliver on only select days.

How Does Munchery Work? How Munchery Works

As you can see from above, there are many different similarities with Munchery and other meal delivery services, but in reality it isn’t that similar when you boil down what the company is actually offering. However, as mentioned above, there are options for pre-made meals to come to your doorstep too, but is it really worth the cost versus just ordering real takeout?

Right on the website there are two options: 1. Order as a guest where you will get no discount on meals, or 2.  Order as a member which gives you a 15% discount on meals. To even see menu options, you must enter in your email address.

Choose delivery days of: Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

There are 2 kit or 3 kit options:

2 Kits

Serves 2 people each meal and costs $12.99 per serving. $51.95

3 Kits

Serves 2 people each meal and costs $11.66 per serving $69.95

Once you pick your delivery day and the kits you wish to receive you then pick the meals that come to your doorstep. Some examples of meals are: Chicken Artichoke Alfredo, Olive & Feta Lamb Burgers, Thai Steak Spinach and Brown Rice, and Seared Salmon and Potatoes. Whether you chose 2 or 3 meals is how many recipes you will decide on. Next comes the address, telling the company where to deliver and the rest is history.

The Bottom Line: There are three delivery days, and you can choose between 2 & 3 kits, and there is a guest ordering system or a membership with discounts.

Is Munchery Safe?

Yes, this company is safe and the meals come properly packaged to ensure that no foodborne illness occurs. Cancelling this meal subscription service is not hard either, and you simply need to contact customer service (which is on the website) so no harm there.

The Bottom Line: This company is entirely safe, and has had no reports of foodborne illness with the way that they send their products.

Pros and Cons of Munchery

Munchery Meal Kits

As with anything, there are pros and cons with this meal delivery service. I am not a fan of the way they demand an email just to see their menu, even if you are simply interested but do not want to sign up right away. However, I want to start with the pros and move to the cons.

  1. There are premade meal options as well as meal kits.
  2. The meal kits are meant to take 15 minutes or less to cook.
  3. They deliver on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

  1. Expensive
  2. The company demands your e-mail before you can take a look at the menu.
  3. The company has let go 30% of staff due to company problems.
  4. There are no allergen friendly options (gluten, vegan, vegetarian)

The Bottom Line: There are both pros and cons with every company, and the pros and cons are very similar to others in the business.

The company Munchery is a nice option for meal delivery if you are in a large city. The company has seen some hardships, trying to compete with Uber Eats as well as the other big dogs in the industry such as Blue Apron or Gobble. Many of the meal delivery services have a larger menu to choose from and they are more allergen friendly to those who are in need of a special menu. Overall, their pricing is basic and it is not better or worse than its competitors. The meals are nice because the meals take right around 15 minutes to make which is great for those short on time!

Gobble Review

gobble meal delivery review

Gobble Meal Service Company

Gobble is a meal service company that touts itself on providing meals to its customers that can be made in 15 minutes or less in one pan. This is a new approach to the meal kit subscription service program, as many other companies do not offer anything similar to this. The company only delivers their meals on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday’s which is also different from other companies who deliver Monday and Tuesday.

The founding CEO is named Ooshma Garg and she is based out of San Francisco, California. The CEO is founder of many different companies, one being called Anapata which helps link college students to jobs based on their resume and experiences. She was struggling with cooking her own meals, and maintaining a somewhat healthy lifestyle while creating this service when the idea of Gobble came upon her. The entire idea is fast and easy one pan meals for the customer, so this sets it apart from the other meal subscription services out there.

How Does Gobble Work?Choosing A Meal

Gobble offers meal option delivery for either two or four people, and is offering a $30 off your first box order (most likely ongoing). This is very typical of many meal delivery services to offer discounts to attract a customer inside. To start off, you will choose your desired amount regarding serving size. Please note the company states,

Our minimum order is 2 dinner kits (4 meals) in order to schedule a delivery. If you do order only four meals for that week, our price per meal is $13.99 ($55.96 total, plus $6.99 for shipping).”

Once you specify how many will be dining each meal, you will sign up with an account and choose your delivery days and look at their weekly menu. Another important piece of information to highlight is the fact that the sneak peak of the meals on the main website is large, with a ton of variety. Your actual week to week choices are not as diverse as the main website. Nonetheless you still get to choose which meals you want which is a nice added bonus.

The 2 Person Plan

  • Members Receive 6 meals per week
  • Your choice as to what dinner kit appeals to you
  • Each meal is $11.99 so roughly $71.94 per week with an additional $6.99 for shipping

The 4 Person Plan

  • Members Receive 12 meals per week
  • Cost is $11.99 per meal or roughly $143.88 per week with an additional $6.99 for shipping
  • Your choice on which dinner kit comes, if you do not have a preference they will auto generate your meals based off of your preferences. Same goes for the 2 person plan.

The Bottom Line: The customer will receive free shipping on their first order, but will have to pay $6.99 for any shipments after that. Cancel, pause, or skip any deliveries if you need to with not much hassle. There are two different plans to choose from: 2 and 4 person plans.

Is Gobble Safe?

The way the food is delivered is safe, and the food is preserved for hours safely until you get home from work. It is not wise to let these meal deliveries sit out overnight because they are only sitting on one large ice pack at the bottom of the box. Store the food in your refrigerator when you take it inside if you do not plan on cooking right away. Overall, the company is safe and the policies are customer friendly if you need to cancel or pause for any reason.

The Bottom Line: This company is safe, and the food is packaged in a way that does not cause harm to the customer.

Pros and Cons of Gobble

When weighted against other companies there are a few pros and cons that come up right away. Let’s start with the pros of what Gobble offers to its customer base that some other companies don’t offer, or that they simply just do just as good or better as their competitors.

  • The meals are all made in one pan, which means less clean up after you cook.
  • The meals are supposed to take 15 minutes or less to cook.
  • On time delivery arrivals and two chocolate chip cookies with your first order.
  • Easy to follow recipe card with pictures of the meal.

  • Expensive
  • Weekly Meal Menus options are smaller than advertised.
  • 3 delivery days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).
  • Some meals take 30 minutes to make depending on your skill set.

The Bottom Line: There are an equal amount of pros and cons that come with Gobble!

Overall, Gobble offers very good options for those in need one quick meals that offer little clean up. You will be cooking though, and some of the meals are said to be longer than 15 minutes as advertised. As with anything, you will be paying for the service and Gobble is a little more expensive sitting at $11.99 each meal versus some companies charge $8.99-$9.99. Gobble offers dinner options, but they also provide side meals, soups, and appetizers that can be added to each meal. All in all, they offer a nice service to those in need of fast meals delivered to your doorstep.

Lindora Diet Review

Lindora Review

Marshall Stamper founded the Lindora Clinic in 1971, and the company is based out of Newport Lindora Diet ReviewBeach, California. They are a clinic overall, not merely a diet pill website. With all of the sincerity the website offers to the customer at first glance, the amount of information and choices they throw at you is overwhelming. Anytime you read “medically supervised,” you can bet you are going to pay for it!* When you go on this website, get ready to spend a few hours picking and choosing what you would like to buy. With all of your options, you may spend upwards of $500-$1200.

The Lindora Clinic offers a variety of products such as protein bars, pills, DVD’s, CD’s, books, and more. There are so many options here, you would think their return policy would be friendly, but in fact, it is quite the opposite. They claim that all food and supplements have a NON-refund policy. The online program is also a solo program with little to no support if you are not in California.

The Lindora Clinic Support Line:

Lindora Clinic CentersWhen I called into the Lindora support line I was immediately asked where I live because if I do not live in the areas where their programs are offered I am only able to use online programs. This is completely on your own, and I was told I needed to be strict with the food log, and being online daily.

The difference between living in near a clinic and being solely online is mind blowing. You will be medically supervised, supported, and tested whereas online does not offer any of it. This seems like a much more comforting way to go (when you are investing this much money), versus being on your own to record food diaries and having to read novels, monitor your own health and still stay ahead. Alone.

How Much Does Lindora Cost?

The Lindora Cost is as follows and can be chosen depending on your counseling and level of commitment:

  • Online 6 Week Program which includes 1 booster shot per week and 10% discount on their products will be around $70
  • 6 Week Program which includes 1 weight loss program per year, 5 counseling visits, daily b12 injections, 10 % discount on their food and supplement products, 1 booster shot per week and 1 body contouring service per week $150
  • 6 Week Program which includes unlimited choice of weight loss programs, 5 counseling visits, daily b12 injections, 10 % discount on their food and supplement products, 1 booster shot per week and 1 body contouring service per week – $220

Keep in mind that the prices above are based on a YEARLY membership subscription. It is very clever to show prices per day without clearly stating that you will be paying for a whole 12 months, regardless if you use it or decide to stop. So, the all inclusive daily price of $5.31 will end up being 1,938.15 for a year of subscription. Lindora offered protein bars, shakes, daily planners are also sold separately at a rather pricey retail value even with the mere 10% discount.

Do Dieters Lose Weight On The Lindora Diet?

I believe you have a better chance of losing weight if you are taking full advantage of the program, by living in Southern California. When you are on your own, the DVD’s and books are not going to be enough to help you lose the weight. Why even pay for that material, when there are so many free resources online today?

They have a multitude of articles on their website that have case studies from people who have gone through the Lindora Program. The one topic that prevails regarding their most successful clients are the people who “buy into” what the product and program had to offer. This could be true for ANY diet program out there. I was not that impressed overall with their clinical studies and scientific backing, as there was little to nothing in this area. They did not set themselves apart from everyone else.*

Is The Lindora Diet Easy To Follow?

The Diet Program is not easy to follow, as it requires medical supervision and/or the willpower to follow the diet alone.* This can seem like a daunting task when you have large amounts of weight to lose, in such a short time period. The Lindora Diet is meant to last 45 days, with three high protein snacks and three high protein meals per day. Once you get closer to the 45-day mark, you can incorporate a more normal eating regimen back into your routine. The program however, is not easy to follow, as it restricts many foods from your diet, such as starches, breads, and pastas. This is one of the reasons the patients have to be medically supervised when participating within this program. It can also be difficult because you have medical supervisors constantly looking over your shoulder, and you are paying a hefty price tag for their time. On the other side of the spectrum, if you do not live in Southern California, you are forced to do the program all by yourself, which can be equally as hard when you have a lot of weight to lose. In these days of the detox you may find yourself feeling drained with little to no energy, as well as take on headaches and cravings that are hard to curb. The program is most definitely not easy to follow for a number of reasons, one including the difficulty of the program as a whole both in the state of California and out.

The Lindora diet is not a diet as much as it is a clinic where people begin a weight loss program. It is pricey because there are many components to it. There are many diet plans on the market today that promise rapid weight loss. Every person has to be a savvy consumer, read the fine print, and consider what others are saying about the program. In the end, dieting is a matter of personal choice and one program may be great for some people while another works better.

The Lindora Clinic does not market any social media on their website, as they are more of a clinic than a brand. When searching them out on Facebook, they had a low number of likes as well as infrequent posts teamed up with no comments.

After taking a deeper look into Lindora program, it was clear to me that this is not for everyone. It targets one geographical location and caters only to that region. They have tried to expand, but really the program seems like it is more of a daunting task to follow alone. There are much more simple methods of losing weight out there that are not as expensive, and they are more conducive to a supported lifestyle.

Because it was originally created to have the patients be medically supervised at all times, it was meant for people who needed to lose a ton of weight in a hurry. This does not cater well with the general market. I would not waste your time or energy on this program.

*Please keep in mind that with any diet or weight loss program, individual results will vary.

Feed My Fit Review

feed my fit review

Feed My Fit

Feed My Fit is a meal planning system that is based out of Meridian, Idaho. Unlike other food subscription services that offer delivery of groceries to your door, the meals come already made so you do not have to spend time inspecting a recipe or learn to create a new dish. The owner of the company is Baron Hollowell, and he says “All you have to do to lose weight is eat.” While this is not a “weight loss” product per say, they do offer a variety of healthy meals that will be geared toward helping someone be more health conscious such as the turkey chili or Montreal Steak with sweet potatoes. Baron is a lifelong athlete and passionate about health and fitness, so he does take the nutrition of his meals seriously.  Feed My Fit only services the state of Idaho (Boise, Eagle, Meridian, and Nampa).

How Does Feed My Fit Work?

The meal planning system is rather simple in context, and the meals will come to your doorstep  already prepared. If you live near their home location, you can also go and pick up your meals too if you want to do that. There are specific plans that Feed My Fit offers, and those are:

The Lunch Plan

At $39.75 per week where you will get 1 meal for 5 days that are 500 calories or less. All of these meals include a lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats.

2 Meal Plan

Lasting 7 days, this plan costs $111.30 per week that comes with 2 meals a day for one week. 500 calories or less. All of these meals include a lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats.

Athlete Plan/ 2 A+ Meal Plan

For $125.30 per week and the meals are specifically athlete designed with 50% more protein, lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats.

Full Coverage

This week long meal plan offers the most. At $172.50 per week (3 meals + snack for 7 days) This plan includes breakfast, 1 snack, lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats.

An example of the menu would be:

Breakfast– Veggie Breakfast Bowls, Breakfast Burrito

Meals– Turkey Chili, Shrimp Scampi, BBQ Chicken with Sweet Mash, Chicken Fajita Bowls, Lemon Garlic Chicken, and Asian Turkey with Green Bean Stir Fry.

There are ordering rules involved with Feed My Fit, and that is simply to have your order placed by Thursday at 5:00pm in order to get your meals for the following week. All of the microwaveable meals come in a microwave safe container, so all the customer has to do is simply place the meal in the microwave for 60-90 seconds with one side of the lid opened. If you want to customize your own plan, you are more than welcome to e-mail [email protected] and they can help you personally.

Please note it is best to eat your meals within one week of receiving them to keep them from going bad. The meals are very healthy for the most part, so they lack preservatives. If you must freeze meals, only keep them frozen for 2 weeks.

The Bottom Line: There are 4 different plans to choose from depending on needs, and cost. The company delivers the meals in a microwaveable safe container, which are meant to be heated for 60-90 seconds. Not all of the meals are 500 calories or less, as there are different calorie meals based on your personal needs.

Is Feed My Fit Safe?

Yes, this company provides a safe service for those folks living in Idaho who are seeking easy and healthy meal options delivered to their doorstep. They have a strong following, and positive reviews overall which make the company reputable in the local area. If anything, don’t let the meals sit over a week or they could go bad due to very little preservatives in each dish.

Pros and Cons of Feed My Fit

Feed My Fit Van

The obvious con is the fact that this is only an Idaho based company (sorry rest of the country/world)! If you do not live in the cities mentioned above, you cannot take advantage of the meals from Feed My Fit. However, with this con comes a pro and that is the personal attention you will receive with options to customize your own meal plan. Let’s dive into other pros and cons below:

  • Healthy meals come already prepared for you
  • Different plans based off of your lifestyle needs
  • They are starting to deliver to gyms
  • You can customize your own plans
  • You can buy individual meals from their home location without a plan.

  • Rather expensive since it is catered for only one person.
  • Only delivers to 4 cities in Idaho
  • Meals must be eaten when they are delivered.

The Bottom Line: There are a good number of pros toward this company and they cater just toward the local community in the Boise area. As with anything there will be some cons (cost) due to the meals being only catered for one person. All in all, the company is reputable.

Feed My Fit is geared toward the individual who leads a busy life, yet still desires to eat healthy meals that are calorie and nutrient conscious. All of the plans are catered for one person, and there are no family plan options so if you are cooking for more than one you will be in trouble. The Idaho based company owner is passionate about all things health and fitness and he is now delivering his meals to local gyms for those who want to grab a meal and go. Overall, it is a nice option for those who live in the Boise area and are seeking healthy meals quickly.

Plated Meal Delivery System

Founded by Nick Taranto in 2012, Plated is a meal kit delivery service that provides the customer with the exact ingredients and instructions they need to prepare a meal quick and easy at home. As with many of the meal services, you will pay per meal or through the specific plan that you choose. Plated offers the customer the choice to choose the exact recipes they want sent to them (finally), as well as a flexible subscription schedule that can be cancelled, skipped, or swapped when needed. The dishes come in two, three, or four serving sizes and can be obviously adjusted if needed. Plated was recently sold to the grocery store chain Albertsons for over $300 million dollars, and they still provide the same service to the customer as they did years prior.

How Does Plated Work?

As with many of the meal kit systems such as Blue Apron, Purple Carrot, or Hello Fresh the model is the same all across the board. The customer will first fill out a food profile and hand over their e-mail so that they can get their account started up. Plated works the same way (kind of) as they first want you to choose how many servings per week you are needing.

  • 2 Servings per night (2,3,4) nights per week $11.95 per serving
  • 3 Servings per night (2,3,4) nights per week $9.95 per serving
  • 4 servings per night (2,3,4) nights per week $9.95 per serving

  • 2 servings 2 nights per week: $47.80, 2 servings 3 nights: $71.70, 2 servings 4 nights: $95.60
  • 3 servings 2 nights per week: $59.70, 3 servings 3 nights: $89.55, 3 servings 4 nights: $119.40
  • 4 servings 2 nights per week: $79.60, 4 servings 3 nights: $119.40, 4 servings 4 nights: $159.20

There is always free shipping for orders over $60 and the first time you order you will get 25% off of your first month. Once you choose the plan you want, it will prompt you to choose the exact recipes you want to receive each week. There are over 20 weekly recipes to choose from, as well as dessert.

Recipe Examples

Sweet Corn and Potato Chowder, Cuban Beef Picadillo, Pimiento Grilled Cheese, Chicken Fettuccine, Soy- Glazed Steak, Salmon Radish and Quinoa Bowls, and Prosciutto pizza.

The Bottom Line: Plated offers the customer to choose the exact recipes they want, which is different than most meal delivery services. Price wise it is pretty comparable to their competitors, and any orders over $60 the shipping will come free.

Is Plated Safe?

The company says this about their food:

“We provide 100% antibiotic-free meats, beef with no added hormones, and seasonal, hand-packed produce from trusted purveyors. We also include organic produce, locally sourced ingredients, and sustainably sourced fish whenever possible.”

As you can tell the food is safe, and the practices of the company are safe too. When looking into the sticking point about their boxes and trash being recyclable, they had an answer for that too. All of their packaging minus some of the plastic holding the small amount of spices can be recycled. There is no danger to the environment either, which makes me happy! There is nothing dangerous about this company or really any of the meal delivery kit companies out there today. Just make sure the food is properly refrigerated upon arrival to your home (as you would with normal groceries) and you should be good to go.

The Bottom Line: Plated is safe, and their boxes and packaging are all recyclable.

Pros and Cons of Plated

When looking into the functionality of Plated, there are pros as well as some cons that might deter some customers. Let’s take a dive into the pros first.

  • Easy to follow recipes with perfectly portioned out ingredients.
  • The recipes are tasty, and the customer gets to choose their recipes for the week.
  • Meals usually take around 30 minutes from start to finish.
  • Convenient

  • You are not likely to have any leftovers for the next day.
  • Much more expensive than simply grocery shopping for your meals.
  • It’s a subscription so if you forget to edit your order, choose your recipes, or pause your meals you will get charged.

The Bottom Line: There are no major cons to deter someone away from investing in this meal kit subscriptions. Major pro is the fact that the customer can choose their own recipes, which is unlike many of their competitors. The major con is the cost associated with Plated.

Overall, Plated it a stand up service that provides the best meals possible for the paying customer. They offer vegetarian and gluten free options, as well as desserts too. The cost is going to be painful for some as for two simple meals (with no leftovers) you will be paying right around $50.00. If you are in need of a meals shipped to your door, this is a good option because you can pick the exact recipes you want versus leaving it up to chance and letting the company decide for you.

DHERBS Full Body Cleanse Diet Review

Dherbs Diet Review

DHERBS Full Body Cleanse

Our bodies are beautiful, efficient machines that when properly cared for, are nothing short of Dherbs Reviewmiraculous. The operative word being care. But we all know this. In the final analysis—putting aside genetics and say, accident—we are ultimately what we eat.

Processed foods, fast food, junk food, too much takeout, easy to grab bad-for-us snacks (but oh so tasty!), and we end up feeling like yuck—and often, looking like it. This isn’t any new concept. So when you instead put lots of fruits and vegetables, and lean or plant-based proteins, plus good fats from avocados and nuts and seeds, our bodies will change.

At Dherbs, the idea is taken a step further; eat a nutritious way with tons of plant-based foods, but supplement that diet with herbal tablets—with the vast majority of the ingredients having been used for centuries in tribal and Asian traditional medicines. Dherbs says it products can address ailments from AIDS to Zika.

I’m not kidding. Dherbs claims its products—while not intended to diagnose, treat,, cure mitigate or prevent any disease—will restore the “human body to a glorious state of optimal health and well-being.”

That is a huge claim. And this multi-level-marketing (MLM) nutrition company—like many, many others—sells all kinds of products. In this case, supplements and powders, soaps, creams, inhalers. All made with herbs, all of which are not regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As you’ll see in my bottom line on this product, I believe herbs and spices are integral to good health. But I differ on the modus operandi

Dherbs Claims

In this review, we are looking at the two regimens:

  • The Full Body Cleanse (also called the 20 Day Cleanse and Regimen)
  • The Weight Release Cleanse and Regimen

Done separately—or as Dherbs suggests, one after the other (which will cost almost $300 for 20 days)—these regimens promise weight “release” of 10 to 40 pounds. Yup. That’s what they claim, if and only if you stick to the 20-day regimen: many tablets a day plus a diet restricted to raw fruits and vegetables only.

(I read a review by a woman who complained she didn’t know that the diet was part of the plan. Folks, it’s quite clear on the websiteif you read through itthat the promised weight loss is achieved by taking Dherbs products and eating only uncooked foods consisting of vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts and the like.)

That’s it. If you lose weight—say 10 pounds—you might not be shocked, since that’s all you are eating, and the supplements may or may not have a thing to do with it. Of course, beginning on the 21st day, unless you adjust your lifestyle to reflect that kind of healthy eating, you’ll likely gain it right back.

And why does lost weight return so quickly? Actually, Dherbs has a theory on that; you’ll read in a moment, and it’s kind of out there.

Dherbs promotes a plant-based diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds; not just because it’s all good for you but because, they say, these foods strengthen the immune system which helps the body heal itself. And they say healthy plant-based foods—yes, this is very much a vegetarian diet—will create healthy digestion and more of the good stuff will be absorbed.

I’m with them so far.

Dherbs also says that staying well-hydrated is important.

Still with them.

Additionally, taking all-natural herbal supplements, which are also foods for the body, help supply added nutrition and assist in remedying various types of health ailments.  (emphasis added)

They may want to watch that language; the FDA might take exception to them calling supplements “foods.”

And that’s where they lost me. I am just not convinced supplements are necessary, if you simply eat the foods that contain the nutrients and herbs they pack into a big ol’ tablet. But that’s the point: all the good stuff we’re missing out on—again almost entirely based on ancient or historical herbal or plant-based medicines used in Asia, Africa, and South and Central America—is what you get from Dherbs concoctions. “Giving this way of life a try can only benefit you in the short and long term. Who knows? You might actually like it, feel younger, and have more energy!”

Full Body Cleanse

Starting with the 20-day, $120 Full Body Cleanse:

The Full Body Cleanse is a safe and effective 20-day herbal-based Cleanse that helps you work toward ensuring that your entire body is functioning at an optimal level: your immune system, circulatory system, digestive system, respiratory system, organs, vessels, and more.

When your body is operating at peak efficiency, it can help you stay physically and mentally fit, assist in achieving an increased metabolism, help you experience better digestion, and contribute to your feeling more energetic.

Every day, your body takes in a lot of toxins, pollutants, and potentially infectious agents. Sources of these substances can include processed foods, household cleaning supplies, beauty products, pesticides, radiation, airborne pathogens, unfiltered water, smoke, air pollution, and a plethora of other possible irritants. …

The human body is an efficient machine with the ability to cleanse itself naturally. Over time, however, our society has developed new technologies that process food for longer shelf life, imbue our produce with pesticides, fill our air with pollutants, and fill our homes with toxic cleaning products, as well as allowing chemicals to leach into our water supply. This isn’t even taking into account pollen and airborne biological contaminants. All of this can tax your body’s ability to continue filtering out toxins by itself.

So here’s where Dherbs starts again to lose me:

Taking the Cleanse can help to reduce the number and amount of these toxins currently in your various bodily systems, metaphorically helping you to wipe your body’s slate clean and start over from a much healthier, cleaner, clearer place.  (emphasis added)

Metaphorically means “figuratively,” or like. So are they saying it doesn’t really help? So confused.

So Dherbs Full Body Cleanse helps to unclog, and decontaminate, they say:

If you think of your body as being similar to your car, you realize that it, too, has various systems and fluids that can become clogged and contaminated over time. Well, the same way your car needs periodic fluid changes and tune-ups, your body also needs occasional help in performing its filtering and self-cleansing functions.

The Full Body Cleanse can contribute to helping your body maintain a healthy pH level, assisting with the cleansing of your bloodstream, aiding your mucous membranes in its natural expulsion process, and supporting your digestive system’s ability to naturally clear out any fecal matter or other waste that has built up in your colon.

When you support your body’s ability to naturally filter out the internal and external irritants that have been inundating it, it can aid your immune system.

And you end up with:

  • weight “release” of 10 to 30 pounds
  • more resilient skin and complexion
  • enhanced energy levels
  • feelings of positivity and clear-mindedness
  • enhanced willpower
  • a stronger immune system
  • normalized and regulated body functions
  • regularity of bowel movements
  • eradication of cravings (especially sugar, and junk food)
  • healthy circulation
  • healthy libido

The Weight Release Cleanse and Regimen is similar in concept; but while the first is focused on detoxifying your body, this one is geared more specifically toward weight loss though cleansing. The claim is you will “release” 15 to 40 pounds in less than three weeks.

This regimen employs the same concept, that our modern Western world is so full of contaminants, and our food is so processed, that we are chock-full of waste and toxins. They also lay blame on desk jobs, junk food, and video games instead of outside exercise and play. Dherbs is particularly concerned about specific factors in our modern diet that can contribute to weight gain, including meat laden with hormones and antibiotics, rendered animal fat, saturated fat, trans fat, chemical preservatives and additives, and manmade sugars and sugar substitutes.

Me, too. But their way to be healthier is to take their supplements and change your diet. I still stand by the “change your diet” part. The supplements are not necessary, I say. But that’s just me.

So the Weight Release Cleanse—with its herbal supplements, raw foods, and “self-care”—will, it says, help eliminate cravings, help with willpower and, ultimately, see up to 40 pounds gone in 20 days, cellulite and stretch marks “undone” (come on) a balanced appetite, increased energy, and a regulated metabolism.

A few words about weight release vs. weight loss terminology from Dherbs:

Weight loss is when you lose weight which causes the subconscious mind to go find the “lost” weight because by nature you can’t lose anything that belongs to you. People do not say they lost “unnecessary” weight or “unhealthy” weight, they just outright say they lost weight and this is what sabotages them. Weight release means you “released” the weight, the unnecessary and unhealthy weight of course. It has an energy of self control, it implies your conscious intent to “release” whereas “lost” implies the opposite. People who lose weight gain it back far more than people who use the right language and say they released weight.

Oh boy. Told you it was a bit out there.

Weight Release Cleanse

Anyway, the Weight Release Cleanse ($165 for 20 days’ worth) consists of:

  • a “sugar formula,” of specialty plants to reduce cravings for sweets
  • a metabolism booster, also with a herb formula
  • an appetite control
  • a thyroid aid which is made from botanicals high in iodine which supposedly helps keep the thyroid “cleansed and nourished”
  • a colon formula to help maintain healthy digestive functions, including aiding in relieving gas and bloating
  • the weight release formula, another specialty blend of herbs
  • the “bowel motion” formula “traditionally used by ancient indigenous cultures for their digestive properties”

The kit includes:

  • a weight release tea
  • a weight release inhaler “infused with essential oils traditionally believed to help regulate appetite, quell hunger pangs, and improving mood”
  • and finally, weight release bath drops, “used as an additive to your bath water, intended to help aid your body in cleansing waste and toxins and assist in regulating the appetite through aromatherapy.”

Dherbs says the difference between the Full Body Cleanse and the Weight Release Cleanse is that he former

“helps people to release weight from toxins or toxicity trapped in the eliminative channels, especially the colon; and for women specifically, the five fatty reserve areas: breast, belly, buttocks, thighs, upper back arms”

while the latter

“generally helps people release weight by specifically helping to restore lost or impaired functions and capabilities of the endocrine system due to sabotage predicated upon poor diet.”

Now here’s the part where Dherbs lost me for good:

The Weight Release Cleanse is designed to help those individuals who have difficulty releasing weight (waste) on the Full Body Detox due to non-toxic problems, i.e. impaired endocrine functions, emotional issues, subconscious programming (“holding on” to weights of the world or life), and mental sabotage (concentrating on not wanting to be fat and so thereby attracting fat in accordance pursuant to the Law of Attraction and the science of NLP: Neuro-Linguistic Programming).

The Full Body Cleanse comes complete with 6 formulas, activated charcoal, and a 20-page booklet on the diet regimen of all raw foods and includes a schedule of when to take the supplements and when to eat and exercise, other “healing modalities” and a list of approved recipes. There’s a lot of add-ons, too like eBooks (“for a nominal fee). So, 6 herbal supplements, activated carbon (charcoal) and a raw foods diet of plant-based foods for 20 days coupled with a “positive change in thinking, a positive change in attitude, a positive change in diet, and a positive change in lifestyle are all that you need to begin the healing process with your mind and body.”

One other note about Dherb Full Body Cleanse are the videos published online. They include testimonials, many of which are posted on YouTube, that have been viewed tens of thousands of times. And Dherbs has a web video documentary series called 180 Degrees

Dherbs Ingredients

On the website they break it down so you know which herb is formulated for what ailment, condition, or bodily function. Among others for blood and the lymphatic system: dandelion and burdock root, dragons blood, bitter melon fruit, red clover, sassafras root, amla fruit, cleavers, vidanga fruit, cayenne pepper, and goldenseal root.

Or for heart health: hawthorn berry, cinnamon bark, ginger root, garlic bulb, arjuna bark, motherwort leaf, mistletoe leaf, eleuthero root, dandelion root, reishi mushrooms, ginkgo leaf, prickly ash bark, cayenne pepper, lily of the valley, myrrh resin, bala root, punarnava root, noni and fruit.

(NOTE: According to MedlinePlus, a website associated with the National Institutes of Health, lily of the valley is poisonous—the flowers, fruit, and leaves. It doesn’t say how much of it kicks in the toxic effects. “Death is unlikely.” But it will make you sick, and possibly require a hospital stay.)

For your liver, spleen and gallbladder: schisandra berry, beet root, dandelion root, fenugreek seed, artichoke leaf, rosemary, turmeric root, licorice root, boldo leaf, milk thistle seed, rhubarb root, bupleurum root, amla fruit, manjistha root, sarsaparilla root, peony root, bhringaraj leaf, bhumyamalaki, pippali fruit, and goldenseal root.

For your respiratory system: fenugreek seed, ginger root, marshmallow root, rosehips, garlic bulb, astragalus root, mullein leaf, wild cherry bark, peppermint leaf, tulsi leaf, vasaka leaf, pippali fruit, eucalyptus leaf, slippery elm bark, rosemary, thyme leaf, bibhitaki fruit, dashamula, and kalmegh leaf.

For the kidneys and bladder: tribulus root, juniper berry, corn silk, coriander seed, celery seed, parsley leaf, horsetail herb, uva ursi leaf, couch grass root, cranberry fruit, nettle leaf, shatavari root, buchu leaf, cleavers herb, goldenrod herb, sarsaparilla root, gravel root, pipsissewa herb, guduchi herb, fennel seed, punarnava root.

For your digestive tract: senna leaves, cascara sagrada bark, carbon (activated charcoal), buckthorn root, haritaki fruit, psyllium husk, fennel seed, aloe vera, ginger root, clay bentonite, slippery elm bark, cayenne pepper, wheat grass, barley grass, black pepper, turmeric root, irish moss, and poke root.

And finally, activated charcoal (carbon), which is “residue of burnt plant matter (willow bark) that is carbon and copper-based and therefore electrical.” Dherbs says carbon helps to remove all the heavy metal toxins in the body.

The Science (or Lack Thereof) Behind Dherbs

There is just no evidence that detox or cleansing diets do anything. The Mayo Clinic has opined on this topic ad nauseum. In its 10 Nutrition Myths Debunked article, on the subtopic: “A detox diet will clean toxins out the body,” the Clinic is pretty clear:

“There’s very little evidence that dietary cleanses do any of the things they promise. The fact is we don’t need to cleanse our bodies. Our liver, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract do a good job of detoxing it every day. If you’re looking to rejuvenate your body, focus on eating more whole foods, drinking water and removing highly processed foods from your diet.

I could not possibly go through every herb to check on the science behind each, since there are literally dozens and dozens of herbs in these Dherbs formulas. But suffice to say this: there’s plenty of conventional wisdom that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is very often valid—so herbs used in the ancient medical practice might do the job—but who knows what the concentrations are? Who knows the amounts? Who knows if they are contraindicated with your own medications? What about side effects for each? What about side effects from combining them? You need to talk to your doctor before trying any of these concoctions.

Word on the Street about Dherbs

The Dherbs website features an FAQ that includes 143 questions answered on the site everything from “Can I drink coffee” while doing the cleanse to is it doable “during Ramadan?” There’s also no shortage of testimonials and, unlike most sites, there are negative reviews. Quite a few of them.

I was surprised to see this, to be honest. Usually, diet and nutrition sites—especially direct sales ones like this—rarely post negative reviews, but there are some here. The reviews are for all of their products, from cellulite cream to juniper- rosemary shampoo. I looked for negative reviews just for the weight loss programs: the Full Body Cleanse and the Weight Release Cleanse. (There are no dates listed on these reviews, just user names and star ratings)

“Adela” (2 stars) says the Full Body Cleanse was not effective for her:

“I did not see any results or difference in my well being…for some people it may work!”

“Matlyn” (2 stars) was not pleased with the Full Body Cleanse ebook:

“The book did not have enough recipes to get me through the 21 days. Also there was not enough of a variety to be appealing. I ended up searching online for more raw meal recipes.”

“Sonja” (2 stars) wasn’t impressed with the Weight Release Cleanse:

“I started the Weight Release Cleanse & Regimen immediately after the Full Body Detox (and I lost 15lbs.) and with the WRC, I only lost 3 more lbs! I was really disappointed since I followed the plan to the “t” and didn’t fall off the wagon once. I really expected to lose more weight. Perhaps I should have waited a week or more to begin the WRC after the FBD. It may work for some but it didn’t work for me.”

“Helen” (5 stars)—and many others—praised the cleanses, not surprisingly.

I completed the Full Body Detox last month and I can sincerely say that it changed my perspective about my body and what I put in it. I didn’t realize the severity of the damage that I was doing to my body until I began the body detox. … Thank you for helping me make better decisions. You’ve given me the tools to completely transform my state of health and well being. I would recommend this detox to anyone that is interested in not just weight loss but healthy living and eating.

Looking on in more than 140 reviews, Dherbs Full Body Cleanse earned a 3.7 out of 5 star average.

My favorite was “Kenisha” (May 2016, 5 stars), who was very honest: “This really works. I ate meat still once a week and lost 17 pounds. so image what I would have lost if I did what they told me to do.”

Oh, and the Full Body Cleanse did make it into a top 10 list; Shape magazine in 2014.

The Bottom Line: Is Dherbs Worth a Try?

Risky (mid-to-high risk) The lily of the valley alone scares me, to be perfectly honest. But nothing else comes up on a search as toxic—by itself. No clue about combinations, since with that many ingredients, the possible combinations are nearly endless.

I’ve always cooked with fresh herbs and spices from around the world (turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, and ginger are my favorites) Decades ago I planted a cutting of Italian oregano in an old wok and partially buried it outside a south-facing back door; it spread like a forest. Since then, whenever possible I have rosemary, parsley, mint, basil, lemon verbena, and/or sage growing. The spices I buy: Badia is a good brand, really inexpensive, and they have everything plus little bags of dried herbs, seeds, nuts and berries for less than a $1.

Here’s my point: I’ve read a lot of late about nutrition and know that the best way to get all this healthy great-for-you food into your body is to eat them; chew and swallow and digest. So, eat lots of greens, fruits, lean proteins, healthy fats, get lots of exercise and cook with herbs and spices.

Spend the $120 that you would have spent on the 20-day cleanse (or $300 for both of them) and plant an herb and vegetable garden, and buy some new and exciting (and good for you) spices like turmeric, cumin, and cayenne, and have fun in the kitchen.

Freshly Review

Freshly Meal Delivery Service Review

Freshly Meal Delivery Service

Freshly is a meal subscription service that compares to many other meal kit services out there today such as Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, and Purple Carrot. The big difference between Freshly and the others is there is no cooking involved. The meals come right to your doorstep already made, and all you have to do is heat them up. They deliver to 27 states, and when you go to sign up you will be asked what zip code you live in to see you if qualify for delivery. CEO and co-founder Michael Wystrach founded Freshly when he felt he was not in his best physical shape and was not able to eat healthy meals with his

busy lifestyle. He created this platform to solve his dietary problems and get back into great shape.

How Does Freshly Work?

First you will add in your zip code to see if you are eligible for delivery, and once that is a go you can start the process of choosing which plans you want. There are four different plans to choose from:

4 Meals Per Week: $12.50 per meal, $49.99 per week
6 Meals Per Week: $9.99 per meal, $59.99 per week
9 Meals Per Week: $9.99 per meal, $89.99 per week
12 Meals Per Week: $8.99 per meal, $107.99 per week

The customer gets to choose the exact meals they want to come to their door each time, and the company accommodates specific dietary restrictions like gluten free and peanut allergies. None of the meals are frozen, and they always fresh ready to heat up and eat. The company delivers Tuesday through Saturday, and you can skip any week if it does not line up with your schedule. You can choose a variety of meals: Entrees and Breakfasts.

Some of the meals are: Pesto Chicken, Black Bean & Sweet Potato Patties, Southwest Chicken Bowl, Korean- Style Shrimp, Pork al Pastor, and Spaghetti Squash and Meatballs.

The Bottom Line: There are 4 different plans to choose from once you are cleared for shipping eligibility since they only deliver to 27 states.

Is Freshly Safe?

This company is completely safe to order from, and they are environmentally conscious with a section for how to recycle your deliveries on their home page. When asked how Freshly keeps their meals fresh they responded,

“To keep your food super fresh in transit, we use special modified atmospheric packaging, which involves modifying the composition of the internal atmosphere of a package (commonly food packages) to improve the shelf life of fresh food by 200% or more compared to packaging in air.”

The Bottom Line: Freshly is safe and environmentally friendly for the most part. They offer guidance on how to properly recycle their products.

Pros and Cons of Freshly

Freshly Meals

As with any of the meal plan subscriptions there are pros and cons that you must weigh out before you sign up and pay for the first month.

• No cooking necessary. All of the meals are already prepared for you.
• The customer gets to choose their own recipes.
• You can cancel, pause, or change at any time with no hassle.

• Expensive! Ordering from Freshly is more expensive than buying your own groceries, but that’s where the pro of convenience comes to play.
• Cumbersome packaging and waste (although recyclable)
• Some have said a select number of meals had an odd taste to them.

Overall, Freshly is going to be a nice company to invest in if you are really short on time and do not want to cook at all. Some people noted that the meals were not all amazing, but others enjoyed a variety of them at the end of the day. Any time you are working with pre-made meals (think airline food) you are going to get only a certain level of quality. Having fresh ingredients sent to your doorstep with the ability to cook them yourself sounds more appealing to me personally, but some people just don’t have time for it. Either way this company has received good reviews overall, and they offer a variety of meals to choose from for every palate.

Blue Apron Review

Blue Apron meal delivery review

Blue Apron is a meal delivery service that provides the customer with a variety of fresh ingredients in order to create new and exciting meals. It is suitable for those who feel they are in a cooking rut and need new recipes to try out, or those who are simply short on time to grocery shop. The company was started in the summer of 2012 by three men living in New York City (Matt Salzberg, Ilia Papas, and Matt Wadiak). They cooked select recipes in their homes to try them out for taste, and ultimately felt they had a great idea. They boxed the ingredients themselves and delivered to friends and family first, and then the business took off from there.

How Does Blue Apron Work?

This is a meal kit delivery service company, so to be clear they do not send you meals already pre-made. You will be sent the ingredients in a well insulated box as well as a recipe card so that you know how to create the meal. Unlike other meal kit companies, they only have two different plans to choose from: Two Person Plan ($59.94 per week, $9.99 per meal, 2-3 meals per week) or the Family Plan that serves 4 people ($71.92-$119.34 per week depending on 2,3, 04 4 recipes per week) and each serving is $7.49-$8.99. Of course, there are always first timer deals on the site such as $60 off your first order etc.

There are also not any special dietary plans to choose from, but the company does offer a vegetarian option if you need it but only for the two person plan. Once you decide you want to invest your hard earned dollar with Blue Apron it will take you through a set of steps such as putting in your e-mail and creating an account which will be the hub for your future orders and information. Simply choose the plan you want, and then add in your e-mail.

You will let the company know your “dietary preferences” and then from there they will personalize the menus you will receive each week. The meals can be paused or cancelled at anytime, but you cannot pick the exact recipes you want each week. Some examples of the recipes are: Summer Vegetable Gnocchi, Garlic Shrimp & Spanish Style Potatoes, Pork Lettuce Cups, Sweet and Spicy Udon Noodles, Seared Steaks and Mashed potatoes, and Chicken Enchiladas Verde.

The Bottom Line: Blue Apron has two different plans to choose from, the two person plan and the family plan. They do not have specific dietary plans to choose, and you cannot pick the exact recipes you want. The first order you will get $60 off your meals, and each order can be paused or cancelled at anytime.

Have You Heard Of Blue Apron Wine?

Blue Apron WineAs outlined on the site, along with tools for cooking, Blue Apron distributes their own bottles of wine. You can sign up for this service and receive bottles of wine monthly.. The packages are “personalized” and arrive at your doorstep with tasting notes, pairing tips, and the story behind every bottle of wine.

Is Blue Apron Safe?

There is nothing dangerous about this company, especially in the way they deliver. All of the food is kept fresh under packs of ice and hefty insulation. If anything, the only “danger” is going to be the amount of unrecyclable waste each box omits. This definitely has effects on the environment long term. With small Styrofoam pieces, plastic to hold seasoning, and the vacuum seal plastic for the meats there is very little you can actually recycle. However, overall as far as food quality is concerned, the company provides a safe product for its customers.

The Bottom Line: The company is completely safe, but the amount of environmentally waste that occurs is not appealing.

Pros and Cons of Blue Apron

There are both pros and cons with Blue Apron, and they are about equal believe it or not. Whether it comes down to cost breakdown, serving sizes, or tastiness of the meals there were customers who had an opinion! Let’s start off with the pros, because I like to stay positive above anything.

  • The meals come with the exact amount of ingredients so no measuring in necessary.
  • The recipe cards are easy to follow, leaving out any confusion that could arise.
  • The company lets you look at the menu well before they ship to make sure you actually like what meals are coming your way. If you don’t you simply can skip.
  • They give the first time customer $60 off of their first order, and make cancelling easy.
  • Blue Apron provides a recipe database for both paying and non paying customers.

  • The meals are more expensive than just buying the ingredients at the grocery store, and they leave little to no leftovers which can be a real downer for some people who enjoy having another meal the next day.
  • Each box comes with a substantial amount of environmental waste that is not recyclable.
  • No word of the ingredients being organic
  • You cannot choose your specific recipes desired.
  • No specific dietary plans to choose from

The Bottom Line: The company has an equal amount of pros and cons associated with it. The meals have been said to be tasty. However, the portion sizes and the environmental waste has been said to be a letdown. You cannot choose your recipes, but can skip a shipment whenever you need to.

Blue Apron is a great company with limited packages to choose from. There are many different companies out there that offer specialty diet plans that cater to your individual needs, but this is not one of them. The food has been reported to taste great, and the recipes are easy to follow. As with most meal kit companies you can cancel, pause, or skip deliveries whenever you want from the home page of your specific account. All in all there are a lot of great recipes to choose from but you might not have any leftovers for the next day!

The Ideal Protein Diet Review

Word On The Street About IDEAL PROTEIN Program

Have to admit they have a decent social following and many fans that claim it has helped them achieve and maintain their weight loss goals.

Oh yes, it works. You do not have to exercise because your food intake is so limited. I think Ideal Protein should improve the crap they sell you. I find most of it unappetizing. No refund or exchange in any way if you do not like it. If I had known all this before I started, I would have found another way to do this. I hate doing this because the supplemental protein tastes so disgusting!Linda R

There are many customer comments available online. Some were satisfied with their weight loss results and some more diet savvy people were not impressed at all.

Low calorie intake sometimes results in loosing pounds.. did not work for me … the products are very expensive so of course you will eat less ! The bars are great but at $30 for just 7 bars – 😬 products are also mostly soy – which are bad and cheap not to mention. So I’m not sure why it’s so expensive… I would say don’t even bother with this diet Tracy

Another consumer who most likely understands the value of clean eating made a comment:

Works for the short term – bad for your body & lab tests will reveal how dangerous it can beAnna

Another consumer has a warning about the extremely low caloric intake:

This is one of the worst diets you can go on and it is expensive! You pay $400 for the first month. That only includes your first week of food. After that, you will be paying at least $120 a week for food. You will be eating about 500 calories a day. Of course you are going to lose weight. What happens when/if you reach your target weight. You are going to go back to the way you ate before the diet and naturally you are going to gain the weight back. This diet is NOT how you would normally eat. If you want to go on a sensible diet, reduce your portions and add protein to your diet. That way you will be eating how you normally eat, but you are just eating less.Renee M

How Much Does IDEAL PROTEIN Cost?

CurrencyThe Ideal Protein cost is $325 for the first two weeks. Need to lose more? Make sure to take into the account that it will be costing you upwards of $400-$600 a month. to continue this seemingly easy but expensive weight loss style. The cost includes 3 prepackaged meals a day, supplements and initially a bottle shaker. Remember you will still be spending extra cash on that one meal and hopefully sharing it with someone because who wants to eat leftovers for 2 or more nights a week.

Ideal Protein Diet is and expensive four-phase diet that involves a one-on-one coaching with a health practitioner or trained consultant.

As a certified health coach I can tell you that lowering your calories, eliminating sugar and eating high protein meals will not only help you lose weight but will also help eliminate carbs and sugar cravings. I can also tell you that eating healthy, clean and nutritious meals can never be replaced by prepackaged meals. Consider learning how to cook and find a diet protocol that not only offers but encourages healthy eating while discouraging prepackaged, processed food consumption.

Bottom line is save your money and invest it in organic, clean food which will in turn not only make you healthier, build your immune system but will help you get rib of the unwanted weight for good instead of spending upwards of $600 dollars for a program that is not really geared towards health education or long term success.

Developed by a Parisian physician Tran Tien Chanh who in his findings claimed that a standard North American diet causes pancreas to overproduce insulin leading to enhanced sugar cravings and therefore weight gain. If A plus B equals C, finding the solution to the underlying problem should not be that difficult. Change the diet and off you go with your new and improved self.

Solution that dr. Chanh came up with or developed, does seem somewhat simple:

  1. Eliminate sugar
  2. Teach the body to use stored fat, protein, and glycogen for energy
  3. Lose weight

Just like the A+B=C. Sounds very simple but is it? And how exactly does he suggest “training” the body?!

If Ideal Protein is the diet you will choose to try you will first have to visit a local clinic. After the initial consultation, and determining how much weight you should lose, depending on your age, height and personal goals, you will be enrolled in a 4 Phase program.

Phase 1 – also called a “Lifestyle Building” phase. This the initial phase where you are required to eat 3 prepackaged meals of choice from what Ideal Protein program offers. This is mandatory and cannot be substituted with a healthy, clean meals. It does ask for one home cooked meal which generally should be dinner. It should be very simple and lean: 8oz of protein and a side of veggies. This phase can last indefinitely, depending on your weight loss goals and needs.

Phase 2 – otherwise known as “Ideal Difference” phase. This Phase meant to last for a year after your weight loss goals have been achieved. Learning how to maintain your weight while still consuming Ideal Protein products.

Phase 3 – doing and implementing what you have learned during Phase 2.

Phase 4 – A phase that is called “Lifestyle Living” and pretty much explaining itself. Maintaining your weight for life.

Is it me or does it sound that there aren’t really any phases other than lose the weight and maintain it?

Are There Side Effects With Ideal Protein Diet?

As with any high protein diet constipation would probably be the most obvious side effects possible but could be avoided by adding lots of fiber, exercise or using over the counter constipation relieving remedies. Smooth tea seems to be everyone’s favorite option as it is inexpensive and fast acting. These will work if you did not suffer from constipation prior to starting a high protein diet. Some other side effects may include:

  • Bloating
  • Nausea
  • Upset Stomach
  • Irregular Bowel Movements

Home Chef Review

Home Chef Meal Delivery Service review

Home Chef Meal Delivery Service

Home Chef is a meal kit company that was started in 2013 by Pat Vihtelic. Theingredients are shipped in a brown box with a recipe card. Please note, the meals are not pre-made for you. Cooking is required with Home Chef (hence the name of the company). There are a variety of options offered, however Vegan options are scarce. Meal subscription services are not for everyone, but convenient for some. They provide a way for those lacking time to cook and enjoy a healthy meal at home. There are many different meal services to choose from nowadays.  The difference between companies comes down to instructions, ingredient sources, and the recipes that are offered.

How Does Home Chef Work?

You will begin by adding your e-mail address into the system. You then proceed with selecting multiple varieties of food you enjoy eating (seafood, meat, veggies). If you have any allergies such as soy, gluten, or nuts this is where you will specify those preferences as well.

After your preferences are chosen, you then choose how often you want your deliveries to happen and how many meals per week. You are able to “favorite” 15 recipes at a time. This adds variety in each of your deliveries. The chef ultimately chooses what recipes come to you based on your preferences.

For more clarity on the meal selection process the company states,

“When you sign up with Home Chef, we’ll automatically assign you some of the meals our chefs have created. We always recommend that you review the ingredients in each recipe so that you can choose recipes that work for you.  You can edit your selections, or skip a weekly delivery anytime, up until the weekly deadline. Skips on deliveries or edits to your menu selections, must be received by 12pm(CST) on the Friday prior to the scheduled delivery day.”

How Much Does Home Chef Cost?

The ingredients are somewhat organic, but not always. Where the food is sourced, determines whether or not it is organic. The meals are priced at $9.95 per serving. You can choose meals in pairs of 2,4,or 6 servings per week. They are mainly dinner options for either 2,4, or 6 people. Lunch servings are also $7.99 as well as smoothie and fruit baskets. Shipping is free if your order is over $45.00, and $10 for orders less than $45.00.

Home Chef Ingredients

Home Chef differs from the other company simply because there are not “plans” to choose from, rather you are choosing the amount of meals and it’s the frequency the meals come. If you plan on adding a smoothie it will cost $4.95 per drink. On top of dinner and lunch options, you can also add breakfast options too for $9.95 per serving along with fruit baskets ($4.95 per serving).

Lastly, delivery days are only Tuesday through Friday, so that leaves four entire days of no deliveries which can pose as somewhat of a problem for many people. Other meal subscription services offer 7 days for deliveries.

The Bottom Line: Home Chef offers a variety of meals delivered to your door Tuesday-Friday. You can update your shipping preferences, cancel, or pause anytime just through your account online. There are a variety of meal options to choose from, but you cannot customize the exact recipes you want delivered to your door.

Is Home Chef Safe?

This company is completely safe to use, and it is convenient for many people who do not have the time to grocery shop and cook meals at home. It will cost you at least $45 a week, or more if you have to cook for more people and get more meals to your household. The ingredients are not all organic, but some of them are. Also, the vegetables come already per-prepped so it takes the “danger” out of using knives to chop up your veggies.

When it comes to the product and freshness, it is also safe. The meals come insulated with cold packs to make sure the food is safe to eat when prepped. All of the ingredients are sorted by meal which saves time and energy when pulling together a meal.

Meal Examples

Creamy pesto chicken salad, Mesquite Sirloin Steak, Ginger- Ponzu Salmon, Barbacoa Steak Tacos, One sheet pretzel crusted chicken, Empanada Rice bowl, and Italian sausage and peppers rigatoni.

The  Bottom Line: This company is safe, and the meals are fresh and properly shipped to your door to ensure no food poisoning and fresh ingredients. Not all of the ingredients are organic, but there are some.

Pros And Cons of Home Fresh

There are pros as well as cons to be aware of before making a decision to sign up and purchase the meals. Let’s start off with the pros of this company first.

  • Good pricing that compares well with other meal services
  • Pre-prepped veggies and sorted ingredients saves even more time for the customer.
  • Flexible meal delivery schedule that can easily be cancelled, paused, or changed.
  • A variety of meals to choose from as well as breakfast, lunch, and smoothie options.

  • You can choose how many meals you want (no limit) but you will get charged shipping if you don’t order at least $45.
  • You cannot choose your exact recipes, and if you like a certain recipe a lot the menu will change and you are not likely to get it again.
  • They only deliver a few days a week, which can be inconvenient for some.

The meal delivery service Home Chef competes well on the market when it comes to flavor of the meals, and cost of the service. They score high in comparison to their competitors, and give the customer a no hassle experience if something potentially goes awry. This company doesn’t offer a lot of Vegan options, so if you prefer to dine more plant based this might not be the company for you. Overall, the company does a great job in providing a good variety of recipes to choose from as well as detailed recipe cards to follow in your portioned out box.

Fresh N Lean Review

Fresh and Lean meal delivery review

What Exactly Does Fresh n Lean Meal Delivery Service Offer?

Fresh n Lean is an organic meal delivery and subscription service that supplies the customer with meals right to their doorstep. It is specifically aimed toward individuals that follow a plant based diet, as well as a gluten free diet entirely. Vegans, seniors, paleo lovers, and vegetarians are some of the known customers to order Fresh n Lean meals on demand. Please note these are pre-made meals that come in a microwaveable safe package, so there is no cooking required when you order Fresh N Lean meals.

The company is based out of Culver City, California but they have meal delivery service locations all around the country.

How Does Fresh N Lean Work?

As with many of the meal subscription services you will choose your ideal meal plan and go from there. With Fresh n Lean meals there are a variety of plans to choose from:

ION Performance Protein +

“High quality animal protein with every entrée. Gluten-free, soy free, dairy free.” Examples- Apple Veggie “Stuffing” With Salmon, Sweet Potato Brussel Sprouts Frittata, Sun Dried Tomato Brown Rice With Salmon.

ION Performance Paleo (Low-Carb)

“Build a Low-Carb, High Protein Meal Plan.” Examples: Examples- Mushroom Bell Pepper Frittata, Curried Kale with Chicken Kabob, Summer Squash Paella With Salmon.

Standard Plant Based

“High quality plant-based meals with no animal products.” Examples- Apple Veggie Stuffing, Vanilla Raisins Oatmeal, Cranberry Kale Brown Rice.

Low Carb/ Low Cal Plant-Based

“An incredibly simple way to a low carb, low calorie diet.” Examples- Orange Blueberry Chia, Mint Cauliflower Chickpeas, Sweet Mango Curry.

There are two different options for getting started with Fresh n Lean products, and you can either order a weekly meal plan or an A La Carte meal plan. Meal prices range $9.00-$12.69 per meal. For three meals five times a day at the $12.69 option you will be sitting at $190.35 each week. For three meals five times a day at the $9.33 option you will be sitting at $139.95 each week. These are just average price points that you will be paying with you sign up for Fresh n Lean meals weekly. A La Carte meals are more expensive ($14.49) and a $105 price point is your minimum order cost.

The Bottom Line: There are two options when looking ordering Fresh n Lean meals: A La Carte or weekly. You cannot customize your meals, but menus are provided for you to look at.

Is Fresh N Lean Safe?

Yes and no. Yes in the fact that this meal service is not going to cause health harm in any way, and no in the fact that you are taking a gamble with your hard earned dollar. I will touch on that more later in the pros and cons section. The meals are pre-made and they are sent in a box to your door, and there is risk of food spoilage, but not likely. Other than that, this company is safe and it is effective for those who like pre-made meals sent right to them.

The Bottom Line: This company is safe as a whole with a great customer service department. The cost might not be safe at the end of the day, as it deems rather expensive.

Pros and Cons of Fresh N Lean

I see many pros and cons collectively when looking at this company. Let’s start off with the pros, as Fresh n Lean does offer a healthy meal service for people who do not have time to cook for themselves, but more on that below.

  • Convenient meals that require no cooking, just pop them in the microwave.
  • They offer meals for a variety of diets including gluten free, paleo, vegan, and seniors.
  • There are a variety of meals that appeal to many people’s palate.
  • Orders can be stopped, and the customer service has been said to be really good all around.

  • The meals are expensive.
  • The meals have been said to be very bland, and some customers simply threw the meals away and ordered food elsewhere.
  • You cannot choose the meals you receive, which will not work out well for the picky eater.

The Bottom Line: Overall this is a good company, but there are some red flags for those people who are picky eaters and are partial to certain ingredients. You cannot choose your individual meals, but the customer service is really great if you feel like you need to omit ingredients you can reach out to them. A big pro is the convenience of the meals.

After looking into the ins and outs that Fresh n Lean has to offer, it is apparent that this meal delivery service is not for everyone. Sure, it markets itself as desirable to a large variety of people but it isn’t the case at the end. The meals are already made, which for some people actually is a problem. For me personally, if there is a pasta dish that comes pre-made I already know the pasta will be mush. Pasta is good only when cooked fresh. This is simply one example, and those who have ordered this meal service have testified that some of the food is not tasty nor fresh. The customer service however is outstanding, so this is a really good positive! Lastly, the meals are not customizable so if you do not like what is sent you will simply be eating the cost. Take it or leave it, but this meal service plan is not for everyone.

Purple Carrot Review

purple carrot meal delivery review

If you have tried to eat strictly Vegan meals, then you are well aware at the time and prep work it takes to be successful day in and day out. Vegan food is hard to find when dining out, and believe it or not the grocery store can seem daunting too if you do not know what you are looking for. There is good news. Purple Carrot is a meal kit subscription service that specializes in bringing Vegan food right to your front door. Similar to other meal kits, depending on how many meals you pay for a week, determines the amount of food the company ships out to you.

Founder Andy Levitt started Purple Carrot after he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, due to the amount of pain he was in and the failure medicine was doing for his body. He believes that plants have the power to heal the body, as well as the world we live in. By creating Purple Carrot, it gives those a chance to try out a vegan lifestyle less all of the confusion that goes along with it.

How Does Purple Carrot Work?

Purple Carrot ReviewThere are a few different packages to look into and I will expand on them below.

Quick and Easy: “Simple dishes designed to cook in 30 minutes or less.”

High Protein: “Protein packed meals built to energize.”

Chef’s Choice: “Gourmet dishes crafted to elevate your taste buds.”

Each of the meals cost $12 per plate, and $72.00 per week for three meals/ two people and will vary is you go up to four people. So first and foremost you will pick a plan, and then you will view the menu options for the plan you chose. Some examples from the high protein/ quick and easy menu: SEITAN SHAWARMA
with Quick Pickles & Lemon Yogurt, TOFU CACCIATORE with Cremini Mushrooms & Crispy Kale Chips, SWEET AND SPICY CURRY with Kashmiri Chile & Warm Chapati Bread, and BUTTERNUT SQUASH GNOCCHI with Cranberries & Herb Butter.

If you are interested in purchasing the TB 12 Performance Meal Plan it will cost around $78 a week feeding 1-2 people. The main difference with this plan is simply that it is gluten free meals, lower in processed sugars, and less soy ingredients compared to the other purple carrot meals.

Once you have chosen your program you will then set up a shipping cadence for how often you want them shipped to you. Each Wednesday, new menus for the upcoming week are posted to your account so you can take a look at the different food options available. You can either customize your meals for the week, or have the chefs pick for you. If you want to skip a week, pause your account, or cancel there are no problems.

The Bottom Line: Pick your plan, customize (or don’t) your menu, and have the meals delivered. You can operate all of the details in your account settings.

Is Purple Carrot Safe?Carrots Image

All of the ingredients are GMO free, ethically sourced and for the most part organic. This is a safe company to invest your dollar into if you are feeling like you have the extra cash. Sure, shopping at the grocery store is much more cost effective but it is not as convenient. Safe? Yes, these meals and the company are a safe bet!

The Bottom Line: Yes, this company is safe. Their business practices are ethical, and they source their food from honest locations.

Pros and Cons of Purple Carrot

As with anything there are going to be both pros and cons depending on which angle you are viewing it from. Let’s start with the pros.

  • Vegan based meals with healthy ingredients
  • An easy out if you are not happy with the service
  • Free shipping
  • A fresh way to look at vegan eating

  • Let’s face it you are going to need to buy other groceries on top of the 3 meals per week you are getting for $78 dollars.
  • Not all recipes are beginner friendly, so there is room for error on the cook’s part.
  • There are only two options to choose from regarding meal size: 2 people 3 meals, 4 people 2 meals. What about the people who only need 1 person? Or the ones who need 6?

The Bottom Line: There are pros and cons with Purple Carrot, but one of the biggest cons is simply the price as it is not cheap. You will have to do other grocery shopping on top of the meal service so it could uptick your monthly food costs substantially.

This is a fresh and rejuvenating way to think about eating Vegan food. I have a friend who is a vegan, and she is constantly home bound when it comes to food because there are very few restaurants who accommodate a vegan diet. This will give the customer a new chance at trying out new recipes whether it is at their own home, or at a friend’s house! The company doesn’t give many options for meals to people portions but they are successful still. Overall, they have a nice concept with tasty meals that have gotten approval from the customers that have tried it out.

Everything You Need To Know About Garcinia Cambogia

What is Garcinia Cambogia?

Garcinia Cambogia (Garcinia gummi-gutta), also known as  Malabar tamarind, is native to Southeast Asia. It is small, pumpkin-shaped, and is reddish-yellow in color. The fruit skin is usually used as a food preservative, flavoring agent, and traditionally in many Asian regions for the treatment of constipation, piles, rheumatism, edema, irregular menstruation and intestinal parasites.

The fruit pulp and rind contain a high concentration of hydroxycitric acid (HCA), one of the main compounds responsible for the beneficial effects reported in several studies on body weight regulation.

Where Is Garcinia Cambogia Found?

G. Cambogia  supplements come in varying dosages. alone, checking ten separate brands, the variety was 500-1500 mg—and usually have an HCA concentration between 60 and 95 percent. Some are pure G. Cambogia, but many are a mixture of different ingredients rather than  G. Cambogia alone. The most common companions are potassium and a mixture of potassium-calcium-chromium.

3 Interesting Facts About Garcinia Cambogia

  1. G. Cambogia may be used to reach a feeling of fullness.
  2. G. Cambogia can increase urination.
  3. G. Cambogia can be used for the cure of some bowel disorders.

Health Benefits of Garcinia Cambogia

Although many studies have been focused on the anti-obesity activity of  G. Cambogia/HCA supplements, other studies have evaluated its anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, anti-ulcer and hepato (liver)-protective properties.

Anti-Obesity Activity

Several studies reported the anti-obesity activity of G. Cambogia  supplements, though none specified the concentration of HCA in those supplements.

A daily intake of 300 mg HCA for 14 days was found to reduce body weight and 24-hour energy intake (appetite, food intake) in humans.

Dr. Kiwon Lim of Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea, and other researchers reported an increase in fat metabolism and improved exercise performance in women who took HCA, 250 mg/day orally for 5 days.

Another study on obese individuals reported a good body weight regulation after the consumption of two different doses of G. Cambogia-derived HCA (2800 mg/day and 5600 mg/day).

Appetite Suppression and Satiety (Feeling Full)

After an intake of supplement containing  G. Cambogia extract combined with Ascophyllum nodosum (a seaweed) extract and l-carnitine during 1  week, 28 people showed an increase in feeling full with reduction of hunger pangs.

Anti-Diabetic Activity

An intake of 500 mg/day HCA supplement, showed a positive effect on the glucose absorption rate and post-meal glucose spikes in a seven-day human study.

Anti-Inflammatory Activity, Plus Anti-Ulcer Activity and Gastric Healing

The administration of 500 and 1000 mg/kg of a 51.2 percent HCA extract showed anti-inflammatory activity in a study done with gastric-distressed rats.

Antimicrobial Activity

An  extract from G. Cambogia rind analyzed at a concentration of 25 mg/ml reported an antimicrobial activity against  E. coli,  staph infection, and some other bacterial infections.

Anti-Cancer Activity

“The fruit contains xanthones, which inhibit pre-neoplastic lesions in and colon cancer. The xanthones may also induce apoptosis in mouth, leukemia, breast, gastric, and lung cancer cell lines in vitro.”

Inhibits Enzymes Related to Onset of Alzheimer’s

It has been reported that a water extract of G. Cambogia fruit rind prevents the breakdown of communication between nerves, a common symptom of Alzheimer’s. Like a safety in football ensures the smooth passage of the ball downfield, protecting passes from interception, G. Cambogia performs the same function in the brain. It blocks enzymes that interfere with synapse communication.

Is Garcinia Cambogia Ever Bad for You?

There are many opinions on the safety of G. Cambogia on the scientific community. Even though some cases of toxicity have been reported, the majority of studies agree on the general non-toxicity of G. Cambogia. The recommended dose for safe use is up to 2800 mg/day based on the “no observed adverse effect level.”

The safety of  G. Cambogia  supplements for weight control has been called into question in various news reports.

Some multi-ingredient formulas containing  G. Cambogia  have presented various negative effects such as interfering with the origin and development of sperm cells within the testicles.

Case Reports

A case report was done in regard to suspected serotonin toxicity. A 35-year old woman who consumed a  G. Cambogia – containing supplement daily for 2–3 months. She presented with stuttering speech and profuse sweating. The supplement contained these active ingredients: 1000 mg G. Cambogia  extract (60 percent HCA), plus a combination of potassium-calcium-chromium ingested at a dose of 2 capsules 3 times per day. It turned out the woman had also been taking an anti-depressant (SSRI), and both substances interacted to produce a toxic level of serotonin (a neurotransmitter in the brain that regulates mood). She hadn’t told her doctor she was also taking the weight-loss supplement. With treatment she made a full recovery. One of the case report authors was hesitant to label G. Cambogia dangerous just from the one incident, as it was never determined clearly that the G. Cambogia and not one of the other ingredients was to blame, but suggested extra care should be observed with patients taking SSRIs.

Dangers Of An HCA Ingredient

In 2009, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identified the consumption of the HCA-containing supplement Hydroxycut, manufactured by Iovate/MuscleTech, as a possible cause of liver damage. The original Hydroxycut formula already changed in 2004 when the FDA first banned ephedrine because of toxicity reports. The second formula replaced the ephedrine with Gymnema Sylvestre, retaining the rest of the ingredients: Green Tea Extract, Konjac (a fiber source), Guarana , and G. Cambogia extracts. The 2009 warning changed the formula again after reports of liver damage and other health problems (rare cases, but enough for the FDA to issue a warning). Today, Hydroxycut has replaced all previous ingredients, no longer containing G. Cambogia.

Do Studies Prove Effectiveness?

Several studies have indicated that HCA itself, and thus G. Cambogia, may not be the culprit. Dr. Sidney J. Stohs,  Pharmacy PhD from the University of Nebraska, and colleagues reported that while some cases of toxicity and specifically liver damage have been associated to the consumption of Hydroxycut products, it was premature to blame HCA for that damage. Mainly because some of the Hydroxycut products tested did not contain HCA, but did contain up to 20 other ingredients and so while HCA might be involved, there was no conclusive evidence of such.

Other studies, by Dr. Stohs and others, suggest that a moderate dosage of G. Cambogia (HCA) by itself, barring other pre-existing health problems, is safe: the maximum daily safe dosage was determined as 2800 mg/day. Of course, research is ongoing.

The Takeaway

While there are still some differing opinions on the effectiveness and safety of G. Cambogia and HCA, especially in combination products, the news seems promising. Of course, no one supplement is ever going to be a “miracle pill;” healthy eating and regular exercise will always be a part of maintaining fitness. But it does seem this little fruit may have a lot to offer.

Hello Fresh Review

Hello Fresh Meal Delivery Service

Hello Fresh is a meal service which offers a variety of food options that are delivered to your front door. These are not pre-made meals and it will require you to actually cook the ingredients in the box. As you probably already know, healthy meal services are popping up everywhere you look. If you are on social media, you have probably seen multiple adds for different companies trying to lure you into a purchase. There are also a variety of celebrities paid to flaunt their home cooked meal in hopes that someone will want to purchase because of popularity. Anyways, back to Hello Fresh, and how it all came to be!

In 2011 Hello Fresh first originated in Berlin, Germany and it was founded by Dominik Richter, Thomas Griesel, and Jessica Nilsson. They started small but have quickly boomed into one of the largest meal-kit provider services in the United States. In 2018, Hello Fresh then acquired Green Chef which is a US organic meal company. As you can tell, they have quite the momentum on their side.

How Does Hello Fresh Work?

When you first go onto the website it will ask you to pick out your preferences: Household size, schedule, and dietary preferences. Once your preferences are selected you will be prompted to create an account, because without an account you will not be able to customize and create the meal options you want to try. Once you are inside of the site, it will then take you to the menu page, where you can choose the type of meals you would like to try and cook. For example there are a few different plans to choose from:

  • Veggie Plan- $5.00-$9.00 per serving with a 3 meal option.
  • Classic Plan- $5.00-$9.00 per serving with a 2,3, or 4 meal option plan.
  • Family Plan- $5.00-$7.00 per serving with a 2 or 3 meal option plan.

Examples Of The Food You Will Be Cooking:

Classic: Presto Pesto Panko Chicken, Korean Beef, and Fajitas.

Family: Teriyaki Chicken Stir Fry, Parmesan Chicken Dippers, Grilled Caprese Burgers, and Little Ears Pasta.

Veggie: Sweet N Sour Yakisoba Noodles, Harissa Sweet Potato Pita Pockets, and Gorgeous Greens Farro Bowl.

Hello Fresh Meal Box

The ingredients are pre-measured for the customer, and each meal comes with instructions on how to create the meal. In your preferences you can choose between five options. These include meals under 600 calories, a “fit style” meal, beef free, pork free, or even a quick meal option. If you do not care, just click no preference. Lastly, you can customize when you want your shipments sent to you, and can cancel or pause anytime.

The Bottom Line: You will first sign up with an account on the company’s main website, and it will ask you to customize your preferences such as your household size and dietary likes. You will then choose from their 3 different plans, and specify how many people are in your family so they know how much food to send over. Each plans subscription can be cancelled or changed at anytime.

Is Hello Fresh Safe?

The first thought that popped into my mind was simply about the freshness of the food, and how sanitary this is. On the website, they quote “Our boxes are layered with an insulating liners and ice packs to keep ingredients cool until you get home. All your meats and dairy are wrapped with special material to keep them cool until you get home on delivery day.”

There has been very little chatter about any food going bad, and if it were to go bad the company would most likely cover it for you. So is Hello Fresh safe? Yes, this is a safe company with safe food to eat! They source their food from quality places. The seafood comes from an ocean friendly. In fact, the company was rated a “Best Choice” by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood watch program. The meat and poultry come from farms and ranches that have high standards as well, so you should not worry about getting poor quality food.

The Bottom Line: Hello Fresh is safe, and the ingredients are of quality.

Pros and Cons of Hello Fresh

There are definitely pros and cons with any meal service, and this type of service is not for everyone. If you are on the go and very busy you might not have time to utilize all of the ingredients in the boxes each week. It would be a crying shame to pay for these fresh ingredients only to let them go bad due to you eating out because of a busy schedule. When looking into a meal service, ask yourself if you will really have the time to cook the meals.

The meals start at $60.00 per week and can go all of the way up to $100 per week depending on your food preferences and your family size.

  • Fast and easy meals delivered to your door.
  • Pre measured ingredients and healthy food options.
  • Recipe cards for clear instructions on how to prepare the food.
  • The customers choice on which meals they want.
  • Easy and hassle free subscription service.
  • Convenient

  • More expensive than buying the ingredients at the grocery store.
  • If you are a picky eater, you might not utilize all of the ingredients you are paying for.
  • The meals are not customizable.
  • The writing on the recipes cards is very small, so be ware if you cannot read small print.
  • All of the ingredients are fresh and MUST be used so that you do not waste food and money.

Overall, this company makes it easy for the customer with their meals coming with pre-cut food and instructions that are straight to the point. Yes, this is rather expensive if you eat at home more than you eat out. For those who eat out more, this is a more cost effective way to eat throughout the week however, and it is healthier too. As with anything there are definite pros and cons, but this meal service does not have any large red flags that make me cringe. The food is said to be fresh, and the meals are versatile to meet standards of anyone’s palate. The company is offering a $60 off your first order, so it may be a good option to try out even if it is for one time only.

PS1000 PROGRAM Review

What Is PS1000 DIET

PS1000 Diet was created in 2009 and has been gaining popularity over the years as a diet program that is real and sustainable rather than a quick weight loss fix. If you tried many fad diets and worthless supplements you understand how frustrating it is. PS1000 has 10 year track record and is designed to help you shed stubborn layer of fat, increase energy without feeling hungry or fatigued.

The main purpose of the PS1000 plan is to help you lose weight quickly while creating new healthy habits for life. The PS1000 plan theory is simple — we eat all the wrong foods. Not only do we eat foods that are processed, high in sodium, high in sugar, and contain additives and all sorts of unnatural chemicals, but we also consume far too much of it.

By adjusting your diet and supplementing it with PS1000’s proprietary liquid formula, quick and sustainable weight loss can be achieved and as a result the whole new lifestyle.

Is PS1000 DIET Safe?

PS1000 diet promotes healthy, clean and natural dietary plan that consists of variety foods (available at any grocery store) therefore, from the nutritional side, there are no safety concerns.

Using the 2017 Dietary Guidelines for Americans as a benchmark, the PS1000 program easily conforms in all areas such as fats, proteins, carbohydrates, and even salt levels. When the approved foods list is followed closely and “cheating” is avoided, the typical dieter will also have no problem getting other “nutrients of concern” such as fiber, potassium, calcium, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D.

PS1000 Metabolic Burst supplements are all natural and made here in USA. Well researched ingredients help boost metabolism, speed up weight loss, improve mood and sleep, lower cravings and suppress appetite. The supplement is very safe, although in very rare cases, if allergic to an ingredient, could cause temporary discomfort in a form of a rash. Those instances generally go away within a day or so after stopping the supplements, and as I said, are reportedly very rare.

How Does PS1000 Diet Program Work?

For those familiar with and HCG diet plan this might sound some what similar but it is not.

PS1000 diet program is a high protein low glycemic index diet that focuses on nutritionally dense but low caloric value foods to ensure proper doses of nutrients while following low calorie diet.

Diet consist of 3 Phases.

PHASE 1 consists of two parts:

  • Part 1 is a low glycemic index but high in protein nutritional plan. Food list and sample menus are provided with your purchase.
  • Part 2 daily dietary supplement intake, 3 times a day but only while on a the rapid weight loss phase. Metabolic Burst supplements consist of amino acids which are the building blocks for muscle and are meant to protect your lean muscle while helping to mobilize fat for fuel. In addition it has other ingredients (Maca, Glucomannan, Beta-Alanine, Glutamine, Ornithine, Serine, Glutamic Acid, Vitamin B 6, Rhodiola, Arginine, African Mango, Glycine, Valine, Tyrosine, Methyl B 12, Potassium. Vitamin B3 and Vitamin E.) that some studies show to be effective in achieving weight loss. *

PHASE 2 is Designed to establish a new “weight set point”; a weight loss of three to five pounds is still expected. No specialty drops are needed.*

PHASE 3 The final phase where the creation of a new lifestyle happens and is meant to take the dieter past the initial weight loss phase, and continue on indefinitely.

We like the fact that the PS1000 program comes with health coaches and customer support groups, which can be a key element in your success. Customer care phone number is 1 866 599 4240 8am-5pm MST, or you can e-mail health consultants 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at [email protected]

  • We like that the company does not over promise and is not aggressive with pushing other products, foods etc. You only buy the supplements once and unless you decide you want to stay on the program longer you can reorder the supplements at a discounted returning customer price.
  • The diet program has been on the market for 10 years therefore must be working for some people and seems to be doing a good job with consistent growth.
  • It has a good social media following (over 500K Facebook followers) and offers customer portal with articles, recipes and additional sample menus.
  • It is pretty easy to follow once you have read through the instructional booklet: 5 meals (3 meals, 2 snacks a day)
  • Benefits of the supplements really outweigh the price of it which is less than $3 a day depending on which initial package you choose.
  • You are not required and actually discouraged to start any new exercise program while on the rapid weight loss phase. This is due to your body going through detox and being in a distress mode as is.

  • Have to make your own meals.
  • Can be difficult not to be able to eat what your friends and family members eat while going out.
  • Limited food choices (no sugar or processed carbs, for some living without white bread seems like an impossible task)
  • Remember to take the supplements 3 times a day.

Do Dieters Lose Weight With PS1000 Program?

Because PS1000 program promotes healthy, clean eating chances are you will be losing weight. Metabolic Burst supplements are meant to help with the energy levels and ensure that instead of using muscle for energy while on a low caloric diet your body will be mobilizing fat for fuel.

PS1000 has a lot of positive testimonials as well as positive reviews from sites like ””, “”, “” and “”.

Here are some of the testimonials found around the web.

Stephanie B says:

“OMG I have started 3 weeks ago. The first week was just getting used to it and getting off sugar, I cheated a few times but it was because I forgot my food and snacks. So last week I was prepared and did not cheat and boy as it worth it. I started at 248 and week later am at 238. Yeah. And if I can do it anyone can-celebrating my victory.”

Maryam Akerley is happy to prove her friends and family wrong:

“I could not be happier I found this program. My family and friends did not believe it will work but guess what? I made them all be wrong, ha ha.”

Overall PS1000 diet program is a no brainer for me. Clean eating, natural supplements, plenty of support and helpful information on weight loss, sustainability and long term success simply cannot be a fail.

The diet plan also comes with an unlimited amount of lifetime support that can be anything from diet tips to great tasting recipes, and helps keep you on track. A closed Facebook customer support group has many dieters with the same goal who inspire each other every day as well as closed online support portal.

If you are looking for a diet program that not only delivers quick results but can actually help you change your outlook on food and why it is important to eat in a certain structure, then for under $3 a day I say this is definitely a diet worth giving a chance to.

Ideal Boost Review

ideal boost review

Ideal Boost Drink Mix

Ideal Boost is a weight loss product manufactured by the company Ideal Shape. It is a drink mix that is touted to be low in calories. Ideal Boost is said to help the dieter block hunger cravings throughout the day. Sugary drinks of many types such as juice, soda, and alcoholic beverages increase your cravings. This drink mix is naturally low in sugar to avoid that. The company Ideal Shape is best known for their plethora of diet drinks, plans, and shakes. If you are unsure of their validity they explain the products on the main website. Company headquarters are based out of Lindon, UT and they are available 6 days a week excluding Sundays.

How Does The Ideal Boost Product Work?

Ideal Boost reviewIn one box of Ideal Boost there are 30 sticks. These sticks are to help the dieter lose weight, cut cravings, and taste refreshing all at the same time. The company promises no sugar crashes, as this drink is typically consumed when you are feeling in a slump through the middle of your day. The flavors currently offered are: Iced Tea, Black Cherry, Pineapple Passion, Peach Mango, and Hot Chocolate. For 30 servings the cost is $29.99, and that does not include shipping costs if you are purchasing the product online.

The company suggests that the user mix one stick of Ideal Boost into a 16 oz. water bottle and shake vigorously. They recommend that the sticks be taken either once or twice per day around 11:00 am and 2:00 pm when you feel a slump coming on.

The Bottom Line: This product costs $29.99 for 30 sticks, and there are 5 different flavors to choose from. This is meant to be taken once or twice per day depending on how you feel that day.

Is Ideal Boost Safe?

First, let me show you the ingredients for this specific product:

Ingredient List:

Appetite Control Blend- Soluble Fiber, Slendesta®

Weight Loss Blend- Green Tea, Raspberry Ketones, Green Coffee Bean

Energy Boost Blend- Caffeine: 80mg (Caffeine anyhdrous Green Tea Extract, Green Coffee Bean), Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Pyridoxine HCI (Vitamin B6), Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12)

Other Ingredients:-Citric Acid, Natural & Artificial Flavor, Maltodextrin, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium

Some ingredients that stand out to me as potential red flags are the caffeine variables, as well as Acesulfame and Sucralose present. For those of you who are not familiar with Acesulfame K (potassium) it is, “Acesulfame potassium, also known as acesulfame K, is a calorie-free sweetener up to 200 times sweeter than sugar and as sweet as aspartame.” This is enough to deter many people interested in Ideal Boost, as artificial sweeteners are not typically linked to good health practices. If you are not opposed to artificial sweeteners, then this product is not bad when looking from a 10,000 foot perspective.

The Bottom Line: This product contains both caffeine and artificial sweeteners. This product is not flagged as dangerous to your health. Please note artificial sweeteners can have a negative effect on your health long term.

Pros and Cons of the Ideal Boost

There are not many cons about Ideal Boost, but the Acesulfame K and caffeine may derail some folks from wanting to purchase. The price point is spot on for a 30 day supply of the product, and the taste has been said to be pleasant from customers. Overall, there has been positive reviews about Ideal Boost actually helping control hunger and keep unnecessary snacking at bay. The product is available online from the company’s main website or on Amazon.

The Bottom Line: The product is priced right, as few side effects, and is available primarily online. There are artificial sweeteners in the ingredient list, as well as a host of caffeine ingredients to watch out for.

This is an overall average product that will give you a boost of energy throughout your day as well as a hunger blocker. Will you gain your dream body by just drinking Ideal Boost? Most likely, no. The flavor has been said to be good overall, and the price point is spot on. This drink mix is not a terrible product and may be worth a try if you are looking for a boost.

The second option for the different plans is called The Optimal 3&3 Plan: The two different tiers range from $297.65 to $255.55, and the different food items that come in the kit for $255.55 called the “Be Slim” are: Nine boxes of our Optimal Health™ products (7 servings per box): Dark Chocolate Dream Bar (1), Salted Caramel Nut Bar (1), Strawberry Yogurt Bar (1), Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake (1), Cookies & Cream Shake (1), Piña Colada Smoothie (2), and Strawberry Banana Smoothie (2). One serving of each variety of our Flavors of Home™: Beef Stew, Chicken With Rice & Vegetables, Turkey Meatball Marinara, and Chicken Cacciatore. Six boxes of our delicious Pea Crisp Snacks (7 servings per box): Barbecue Crisps (2), Parmesan & Olive Oil Crisps (2), and Apple Cinnamon Crisps (2). One box of our Essential 1: Calorie-Burn Flavor Infuser™, (21 servings per box): Strawberry Lemonade (1).

The other kit called the Optimal Plan for  $297.55 comes with: Two boxes of our Optimal Health™ products (7 servings per box): Dark Chocolate Dream Bar (2), Salted Caramel Nut Bar (2), Strawberry Yogurt Bar (2), Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake (2), Cookies & Cream Shake (2), Piña Colada Smoothie (2). And Strawberry Banana Smoothie (2). One serving of our Flavors of Home™: Beef Stew, Turkey Meatball Marinara, and Chicken Cacciatore. One box of our Essential 1: Calorie-Burn Flavor Infuser™, (21 servings per box): Strawberry Lemonade.

This just gives you a small snapshot of what you will be ordering, eating, and paying for when you join the Take Shape For Life Diet. The main difference between the 5&1 plan and the 3&3 plan is simply the fact that in the 5&1 plan you will choose 5 fuelings every 2-3 hours, as well as one lean and green meal while the 3&3 plan allows you to choose three different fueling per day every 2-3 hours in order to keep your metabolism stable.

Take Shape For Life Claims

There are many different claims being made about this diet program and what it can do for your long term health. They say the recipes and the program overall has been scientifically proven to help you with weight loss, but they provide nothing further past this statement. There are a few important things regarding their return policy and their cancellation policy. “A BeSlim Club member shall be able to return a full or partial BeSlim Club order to receive a refund, as per the current published Return Policy.” “If you wish to re-enroll in the BeSlim Club after 60 days following cancellation, you may do so and can re-enter the program and receive the benefits at the point of cancellation. You must place a BeSlim order of any amount to re-enter the BeSlim Club and return to Active BeSlim Club member status.”

The company also puts a lot of emphasis on the fact that it is important to use the health coaches and support groups or you will re-gain the weight you worked hard to lose. This is a bold statement, and it almost forces the customer into taking advantage of a coach they might not want to use in the first place. You can earn money as one of those coaches, which means any person can sign up to give advice, which does not sit well with me.

Take Shape For Life Products’ Ingredients

The Take Shape For Life Recipes are given to the public, and they range from soups to desserts to bars. I will highlight just a few items below regarding what is offered.

The Science (or Lack Thereof) Behind Take Shape For Life

Back in the early 90’s, the company Medifast, which is the parent company of Take Shape For Life, was in trouble regarding certain claims they made that the average weight loss was around 5 pounds per week with no hunger pangs on the Medifast plan. This is a substantial amount of weight to lose each week, and they were investigated for it. In 2012, they settled for a 3.7 million dollar payout for false claims about the effectiveness of the diet program. “Advertisements for the ’Medifast 5 & 1 Plan’ low-calorie diet told consumers they could ’lose up to 2-5 pounds per week.’ It did not have a reasonable basis in scientific evidence to support the claims, the government agencies said.”

On the main Medifast page, there is a clinical study headed by the company itself regarding why their products work for robust weight loss, but the data was marginal. According to the study and conclusion at the end of the trial where they supposedly did a 40-week study on 90 obese individuals eating only Medifast meals, individuals were said to lose weight around the 16 week mark. They quote, “Weight loss at 16 weeks was significantly better in the Medifast group (MD) versus the food-based group (FB) (12.3% vs. 6.7%), and while significantly more weight was regained during weight maintenance on MD versus FB, overall greater weight loss was achieved on MD versus FB.”

According to MLM Companies, “Medifastt, a publicly traded company, just announced their 2016 third quarter earnings at over $6 million, which is up almost $1 million from last year. Revenue increased by 4.1% year-over-year.” Even after lawsuits, they have a marketing powerhouse that will continue to develop new customers even with little scientific evidence on the website to prove the product’s effectiveness. The meals themselves are the bulk of the program, so if they don’t taste good or don’t have good ingredients in them, there is little evidence backing up why it would be effective in the first place for anyone.

Word On The Street About Take Shape For Life

When looking at different Take Shape For Life reviews, it was interesting to see what the customer base had to say. Because the program is rather expensive, nearing almost $200.00 per month for pre-packaged meals, this was the hot point of concern for many. Not everyone can afford this price, nor do they like having to eat just pre-packaged meals every day.

Daniel of Scottsdale said in part of his review,

The program works well but the products are overpriced. There have been some months when I wanted to order from them but I didn’t have the budget to do so, and this threw me off my weight-loss goals. They could do more in offering customer loyalty discounts to people who have been using Medifast for years now.Daniel

Cassandra said,

I travel for a living so I don’t have the option to buy groceries and cook for myself. When I first started doing Medifast years ago, it helped me achieve my weight loss goals. It’s good when you use it but you really have to do what it says – five meals a day and eat your one lean and two greens.Casandra

Judy said,

The Company sells 5 weeks of food as a package. The food is disgusting. All powders with a bad aftertaste. They only allow you to exchange foods within the first 30 days of purchase, which does not give you time to try all foods and get them exchanged and stay on diet.Judy

The Bottom Line: Is Take Shape For Life Worth A Try?

Depends. The Medifast Take Shape For Life program is expensive due to the fact that you have to buy all of your meals each week. If you do not like to cook and don’t mind spending over $200.00 per month on just packaged meals for one person, then this might be the route to try out. The reviews on the products were hit and miss, with some people liking the structure, and others really disliking the food, which can ruin the entire program. While the program does not have any ill intentions, it is limited to only eating their pre-packaged foods, which may not appeal to everyone. It is nice for on the go, especially with the Take Shape For Life App that you can download to your phone too. Overall, this program is another MLM business practice, with pre-packaged meals that may cost you an arm and a leg. Weight loss is hit and miss for those who like and or dislike the food options.

DX-7 Review

dx 7 weight loss pills review

DX-7 is a weight loss pill that is meant to suppress your appetite, detox your body, and drop weight all at the same time. It is manufactured by the company called Synergistic Nutritional Compounds LLC, and they are based out of Provo, UT. On the label of the bottle the address is: 3214 N. University Ave. #112, Provo, Utah 84604. This company is known to produce both male enhancement pills as well as diet products such as DX-7. So why the 7? This supplement is meant to be taken for 7 days in order to see any weight loss, and they recommend taking 4 capsules twice per day 30 minutes before breakfast and lunch.

How Does the DX-7 Diet Pill Work?

As stated above, this diet product is meant to be taken at least twice per day for 7 days in order to see results (or so they say). The company promises quick weight loss, and they are not shy to tell someone astronomical claims about losing 7 to 14 pounds in just one week’s time. That is a lot of weight to lose in such a short amount of time if you ask me. There is nothing more to this product other than taking it two different times throughout the day, and there are no dietary restrictions or exercise goals that come along with taking the product.

The Bottom Line: In a nutshell this is just a diet pill that you take twice throughout the day, and it is only meant to be taken for 7 days before you need to take a break. Many do not think this diet pill is safe, nor does it work as well as marketed to.

Is the DX-7 Diet Pill Safe?

There is probably going to be arguments about this from the consumer and the manufacturer. Of course the company that produces the diet pill is going to say nothing but good things about it, but on the other hand the consumers health is not really in mind when no diet or exercise regiments are encouraged along with the consumption of this product. This is a quick fix, take a capsule to lose weight pill and it might even come with side effects. The ingredient list I will label off below as well as some of the potential side effects that can come along.

Ingredient List:

  • Magnesium
  • Chromax ( Chromium Picolinate)
  • Dandelion Root
  • Senna Leaf
  • Uva Ursi
  • Lactobacillus Acidophilus
  • Irvingia Gabonensis
  • Caffeine Anhydrous, and Green Coffee Bean Extract
  • Junipier Berry, Mint Leaf, Cumin Seed, and Olive Leaf
  • Cissus Quadrangularis

Of this ingredient list Chromax is meant to help regulate blood glucose levels, and juniper berries are meant to increase your urine output. Please note this product is marketed as both a cleansing aid (laxative) and a weight loss pill so be ready to use the restroom when you take it. Both of the caffeine ingredients are meant to stimulate energy, and Senna leaf is better known as a natural laxative to pretty much clean out your colon. Uva Ursi is meant to cleanse your urine from infections, and keep you from getting a urinary tract infection.

The Bottom Line: This product is mainly a laxative as well as an energy supplement so you will be using the bathroom very frequently. The company markets weight loss, but they are really just using the ingredients in their product to clean your body out which isn’t real weight loss once the water and waste goes back in.

Pros and Cons of DX-7

If you are looking for a way to clean your system out temporarily, this product might be for you. Please do note for 7 days the bottle will cost around $20.00 so this does not break the bank and can be seen as another pro. Lastly, the company provides the public with an ingredient list which is always a positive.

The cons are merely set in the fact that this product is a short term weight loss solution and it does not acquire long term results. If you are looking for a cleanse, there are many different products to buy that are simply just laxatives. There is no real return policy from the company nor is there even a website to look at. There will be side effects when taking DX-7 diet pill such as headaches, and gastrointestinal issues.

The Bottom Line: There are more cons that pros, however this diet pill is cheap, and it is merely a laxative. Children are not supposed to take this product.

This so called diet pill is not very impressive when you take a look at the ingredients and the side effects that will come along with it. Yes, it is cheap but that does not mean it will work long term. This is merely a cleanse, and I would hardly call it a diet pill that will actually cause weight loss long term. Be mindful of the ingredient list, and always consult your doctor before taking anything like this to be safe. The company that produces the DX-7 pill is simply out there to make money and not to actually create a diet and weight loss product.
