  • May help you to lose weight
  • May help to detoxify your body
  • May have anti-inflammatory benefits
  • May help you maintain muscle mass

Tejocote root is a weight loss supplement that is made by Alipotec, and it mainly comes from Mexico. However, there are places in the United States that offer distribution. This company sells three different products: anti-aging cream, cellulite cream, and tejocote root, which is a weight loss product. In this alipotec tejocote root reviews, I will be focusing on the weight loss product. So what exactly is alipotec tejocote root?

It is a small apple-shaped fruit that has a very bitter taste to it, and it is yellow and orange in color. Anyone over 65 years of age is not recommended to take this supplement, so be aware of that before any purchases are made. For one bottle of the tejocote root, which includes 90 tablets, you will pay around $50.00.

Aliphatic Tejocote Root Claims

“Our roots are 100% natural. During cultivation, no chemicals or fertilizers are used, and it is carefully harvested. The seed of the fruit is removed and baked in copper containers and subsequently packed. It is consumed as a microdose or capsule. This root helps to reduce weight and obesity by removing fat from your body. It acts as a dilator with soft adipose tissue (fat) and muscle tissue, gradually releasing them through waste and transforming fat into energy.”

Their recommendations for taking the supplement are: “Swallow a microdose or capsule of Root of Tejocote. It is swallowed like a pill, with a 16 oz bottle of water or a large glass of water. Drink 2-3 liters of water daily (4-8 bottles of water). Eat a banana a day. (The banana is not required but is highly recommended to balance the eventual loss of potassium.)”   When wondering about the banana and why the company recommends that, they said the following.

“The effectiveness of the product is such that we lose our stored body fat and therefore lose potassium and that makes us feel different symptoms like headaches, nausea, weakness, sleepiness, fatigue, and/or cramps. To diminish these symptoms remember to eat 1 banana a day.”

Other claims are: Eliminates constipation, colitis, decreases body fat, and lowers blood sugar, triglycerides, cholesterol, removes pain in the legs and feet, helps with excess weight or fluid retention, clears your face, leaving it smooth and free of oil and stains, helps with the growth of hair and nails; they grow healthy, durable, and faster; many women unable to get pregnant, now they are able to.

The root can make men and women become more fertile. Finally, they claim that when you take this supplement, you might feel sore like you have been working out a ton. Why? “After 7 days, your body may hurt as if you worked out and are sore.

This happens because your body is burning fat and separating fat from your muscles, thus making them work harder. At this time, your muscles are releasing a liquid called lactic acid.”

These are all some very large claims about one small supplement. “Once you reach your weight goal, if you continue taking the product, you can eat whatever you want and not gain weight. In order to maintain your weight, simply take one every third day.”

What Does Alipotec Tejocote Root Do to Help You Lose Weight?

Alipotec Tejocote Root is said to help people lose weight by making them feel less hungry.

When you are on a low-energy diet, supplements and medicines that make you feel less hungry can be very helpful. This makes it easier to eat less food without feeling hungry.

Good appetite suppressants, on the other hand, don’t make you lose weight. They won’t help you lose weight if you don’t eat right and exercise.

Pectin can be found in tejocote root. It is a fiber that dissolves in water and can be found in many fruits and vegetables.

Pectin is mostly used in food to make it thicker. It is a key ingredient in jams and jellies, and many yogurt drinks also have it.

Most products that contain pectin get it from the peels of apples or citrus fruits.

In theory, when you eat tejocote root with water, the fibers in the root soak up the water and get bigger. If they grow big enough, they might make the stomach feel full and stop hunger.

The same thing happens with glucomannan root. But glucomannan is much better than tejocote because there is a lot of research that shows it works.

Not only has glucomannan been studied a lot, but the European Food Safety Authority has also looked at it and found that it works as an appetite suppressant and helps people lose weight (EFSA).

Tejocote root, on the other hand, hasn’t been shown to help with weight loss in any way.

Alipotec Tejocote Root Science

The quote, “This root helps to reduce weight and obesity by removing fat from your body. It acts as a dilator with soft adipose tissue (fat) and muscle tissue, gradually releasing them through waste and transforming fat into energy,” this is a large claim, but what does science say? There is a saying that this supplement takes around 6 months to start kicking in, and if you want quicker results, you will need a stronger supplement.

The main weight loss properties in the berries are the roots of the hawthorn and in the pieces of bone tejocote heart (better known as the hawthorn heart).   According to Omics Online,

“Up to 2012, there are only two studies that have identified some flavonoids in extracts from “tejocote,” and analyzed its biological function determining the cardiotonic effect and in the regulation of blood pressure.

The majority of studies only report the results of the extracts by themselves, and not of individual components. The current status of the research about the type Crataegusmexicana still leaves a wide field of study in order to know its biochemical composition and the biological activity of its components.”

In a nutshell, they have a word of it helping prevent certain diseases, but there are minimal studies done on effective weight loss making their claims very much stretched. Regarding eating bananas to eliminate the symptoms the pill provides, when looking into this claim, there were exciting results.

Not having enough potassium will most definitely give you side effects like headaches, nausea, and muscle cramps. The claim that because body fat is lost, you then will lose potassium is up in the air, however. According to the Nest,

“Potassium is the major mineral found inside your cells and is present in every fluid in the body. While this may be true, potassium is found in relatively small concentrations in the blood. Your kidneys are one of the major organs responsible for regulating potassium concentration. The kidneys filter your blood, sweating excess amounts and holding onto potassium if you don’t have enough or don’t have the right amount. Potassium is generally considered to be circulating in the body, but not stored.”

Potassium is not stored. Instead, it is circulated in your fluids, so either this weight loss supplement dehydrates you or their claims are misleading.   Another application that has proven otherwise is the 7-day soreness claim, in which lactic acid is built up from the body burning fat. First of all, after a workout of any type, whether it be from actual working out or burning fat, you will get what is called delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). According to Dr. Parr,

“This belief that lactic acid causes DOMS has been shown to be false since any lactic acid that is produced during exercise is cleared shortly after you finish, long before muscle soreness begins.”

So what exactly causes the soreness if the lactic acid build-up is not the true reason? “Instead, that soreness is actually caused by tears in your muscles that occur as you exercise—especially if you’re just starting an exercise regimen: “It turns out that strenuous exercise leads to microscopic tears in the muscle, which leads to inflammation and soreness.”

Once you reach your weight goal, they say you can eat whatever you want, and you will not gain back the weight. No amount of science needs to be conducted to know this is simply untrue and a false representation of reality.

If you eat whatever you want and take the alipotec tejocote root supplement every third day, you will, for sure, gain weight back. If this was true, it would be studied over and over again with hype all over the media in regards to its magical weight loss properties.

This has not happened yet. As you can see, there are many broad claims, and a lot of them are not entirely factual, which leads me to believe this might just be another mediocre diet pill that claims to be working slowly even though it might not ever work.

How to Use Alipotec Tejocote Root

One piece of root should be taken every day with a full glass of water right after breakfast.

Alipotec Tejocote Root capsules can lower potassium levels, so people who use it should eat lots of potassium-rich foods like bananas and spinach or take a daily potassium supplement instead.

Potassium is a key mineral and electrolyte that helps the body do a lot of different things.

Potassium deficiency can lead to cramps, weakness, diarrhea, low blood pressure, confusion, paralysis, and changes in the way the heart beats.

On the back of the bottle, there is a warning that says women who are pregnant or nursing should talk to a doctor before taking Alipotec Tejocote Root.

Given that tejocote root could be dangerous, we think that the warning should be given to anyone who might use it.

Alipotec Tejocote Root Results

Now that we have taken a deeper look into the claims and science (or lack thereof) behind this product, what do the customers have to say about their results when taking root? Many reviews were not good ones, as customers experienced pretty harsh alipotec tejocote root side effects.

From feeling like they had the flu to feeling like they had been hit by a bus, the words were disheartening. With the large claims the company makes about the pills’ effectiveness, it was almost undeniable there were going to be some scary side effects.   Jessica Snyder (5.9.17, 1 star) said,

“I’m giving it one star for now because I feel like I’m dying. I have been taking it for about a month. I’ve had the WORST painful runs all day every day. I’m gaining weight, and I feel like crap. My brother started taking it at the same time. He hasn’t lost any weight either and still runs. I’m debating whether or not to continue taking it.”

“Returned it. I am a healthy individual who wanted to lose 10lbs, and this was recommended to me. I ended up in the ER with advanced acute lymphadenopathy within 1 week of starting it. Harrowing and expensive lesson learned.”

Lynne Nooner (5.18.17, 1 star) said,

“2 weeks later, my wallet $60 lighter and I’m 4 pounds heavier. I’ve had all the symptoms, the frequent bowel movements, the painful lumps, but so far I’m not losing, I’m gaining. I feel kind of bloated. I am going to continue taking them though because I’m reading other reviews that say it takes a few weeks to see results. I’ll let you know.”

Lynne then went on to say that she stopped taking the supplement and had developed a swollen lymph gland in her neck, which was rather scary.

Risk of Side Effects

A lot of customer reviews talk about the negative effects. There are a lot of reports of diarrhea and aches and pains, which is scary.

One reviewer says that she got ulcers from taking the supplement. One reviewer says that the supplement is to blame for her anemia.

It’s possible that the people making these claims are blaming Alipotec Tejocote Root for their problems when the real cause is something else. There’s no way to know for sure, but claims like these aren’t very reassuring, and information from reliable sources suggests that there may be more health risks that people who might use it should be aware of. Potential users should consider these factors and conduct thorough research, including reading Alipotec Tejocote Root reviews, before deciding to use this supplement.

A case report in Clinical Case Reports (March 2020) starts by saying that tejocote root is easy to get but has no “FDA indication of medicinal merit.”

The report then talks about a 51-year-old woman who took Alipotec and later got immune thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP) (ITP).

ITP is a dangerous condition that makes the blood have fewer platelets. People with this condition are more likely to get bruises and may not be able to stop bleeding on their own.

When the woman in question stopped taking Alipotec, she got better very quickly.

A report in the February 2021 issue of the scientific journal Cureus is also interesting. It tells the story of a 23-year-old woman who was in good health before she ate tejocote root and got acute pericarditis.

Acute pericarditis is a condition that happens when the fibroelastic sac that surrounds the heart gets inflamed.

Where To Buy

Most of the time, you can buy Alipotec Tejocote Root on Amazon. There are also a number of online stores where you can buy the product. It looks like Alipotec LLC doesn’t have a website.

You can expect to pay between $20 and $30 per bottle, depending on where you buy it. Each bottle has enough medicine for three months (100 pieces of the root).

There is an official website for Alipotec South TX LLC. When people go there, they can buy the same pieces of root, but the prices are much higher. At the time this review was written, EVL Alipotec root was being sold for “only” $60 per bottle.

The Bottom Line: Is Alipotec Tejocote Root a Rip-Off or  Worth A Try?

People who want to lose weight often need help. That’s why diet pills and similar products like weight loss drops and meal replacement shakes are such a big business.

People like natural alipotec tejocote root weight loss products because they think they are better for their bodies than weight loss drugs and pharmaceutical products.

Some natural ingredients can be just as bad for the body, if not worse, than chemicals. One example is tejocote root.

Even though many companies make big claims about tejocote root and weight loss, there is no evidence that it works.

There is, however, a lot of research that shows that using tejocote root to lose weight is not a good idea.

If you are willing to give it a chance, Alipotec Tejocote Root might be useful as an appetite suppressant.

All of the best diet pills make you feel less hungry without making you sick. They also help you lose weight in other ways, like speeding up your metabolism to help you burn more fat.

You could say that Alipotec Tejocote Root is overrated. It could also be called a weight loss product that hasn’t been proven to work but has a lot of marketing hype going for it. Too many companies make big claims about alipotec root of tejocote reviews, but not enough people take the time to do their own research and find out the truth.

If you want a safe and effective natural appetite suppressant, don’t use tejocote root products. Instead, choose ones that use glucomannan.

You can also use nopal cactus extract or cayenne pepper extract instead of tejocote root. Both ingredients make you feel less hungry and help you lose weight in other ways as well.

The best diet pills use one or more of these safe and natural ingredients, and, unlike Alipotec Tejocote Root, they all come with money-back guarantees.

  1. My sister n law has been taking this for a month and she has lost weight she was 202 and now is 172 in one month no complaints from her and she feels better than ever her words. I ordered it I need to lose 20 pounds to be at my normal weight for my height so I’m gonna give it a try, I ordered from Walmart for 18 dollars and the reviews was great but like all products some people can handle it and some people can’t!

  2. This supplement is making me feel like I am having a baby three times over. The cramping and the nausea, have been almost bad enough to go to the ER. I discontinued it on Monday and today is Wednesday and I am still swollen with gas and then extreme pain. I’m trying to research how long this stays in your system, I definitely did not have a good reaction. Each person is different, so I cannot say that my experience will happen to you. I will tell you, I wish I would have never tried this

  3. If you are looking for a quick fix this is definitely not for you. That being said, I am extremely satisfied with my results, I have been taking Tejocote Root for 7 months now, my starting weight was around 140, I am now down to 117. The side effects of diarrhea come and go and seem to be some what improved with increased water intake. There were several of us who started it at the same time, it seems to not work in some cases. My sister who started prior to and recommended it , weighed significantly over 200 lbs has lost 60lbs in a year. The best part about this product is that it is easy! You only have to take a small dose daily, and increase your water and potassium. After years of trying different diets that were difficult to maintain this has been a breeze and low cost.

  4. I have taken these for 6 months and have lost 23lbs if you drink the water intake and take potassium (I do potassium pills) they work. Everyone wants to see results right away but just as any weight loss it’s not an overnight thing. What helped with the muscle cramps for me (which are not as bad) was being a bit more active than normal which I have been cause I have a lot more energy. Also I stopped drinking coffee as I don’t need it in the mornings! These really do work just give it time they are so worth it!!

  5. I started taking the micro doses in October and have lost over 25 lbs. I did experience some abdominal bloating and tenderness initially, but I started taking a potassium supplement along with it and all my symptoms cleared up. I am extremely happy with the results as nothing seemed to work for me before this product. I really like that I take it once in the morning and I don’t even have to think about it afterwards – don’t have to remember if I need to take it before, after, or with my meals and I CAN eat just about anything and still continue to lose weight. I ate my way through Thanksgiving and Christmas without worrying about what I was eating and I still managed to lose weight. It might not work for everyone, but it’s worked beautifully for me!!!

  6. I started taking this product last February and by April I had lost 20 lbs. Yes it is uncomfortable in the beginning with aches and pain like you’ve worked out, but for me that lasted maybe a week or two and then was done. I have continued taking it just to help maintain. I would definitely recommend it

  7. I took alipotec two years ago, I stopped because the symptoms, I couldn’t help. Dizzy, could not sleep. I tried again a few days in 1 pcs as the same sympton existed, also itchy like allergy. I reduce to one third(1/3) pcs the symptoms gone. I am still trying but my dosage would be One hird at most half. I was told by a friend, they took it and loss more than 20 pounds. I was inspired and wanted to try.i am looking information if raiz de tejocorte (Alipotec brand) has side effect?

  8. This has been a Light in my life – I have so many Menopause symptoms big belly, swollen legs, depressed, clunkier feet etc and tried so many thing to fix them. I found this and was sketched at first with the reviews. Thank goodness I tried it any way I feel amazing, week one in and the results are great, my belly is getting flatter, my legs are beginning to unswell I feel great which has made my depression better because I see hope. I do take it once a day on a full stomach with a banana also and drink flavored water and NO PROBLEMS. DO NOT TAKE ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. I have no nausea no headaches. You will poop, I needed to poop so im okay with it. That has helped me to be regular and to not feel stuffed and bloated everyday. For me it works and I am so glad I tried it.

  9. My daughter ended up at ER after taking it. Do not recommend it to anybody!
