There is no question that a person has an advantage when they come from a loving, and supportive home. It is not to say that those who don’t come from this type of home will constantly have the lower hand, but there are real advantages to having that loving support system. Having your basic needs met, simply by knowing your parent or parents love you, and that they are supportive of you no matter what makes life a little easier. As an adult you will want a happy home for your own family as well.
Maybe you are one of the lucky ones that had a supportive family throughout your childhood, or maybe you never have known a love like this. It is likely, no matter what background you have come from you will long for a happy and supportive household for your family directly. At the end of the day, family is truly one of the most important aspects of our existence, and we need to try and live peacefully with them even when the going gets tough.
When you talk to survivors of natural disasters, or accidents of any kind they almost always are thinking of their loved ones during the crisis. You normally won’t hear the interviewee talking about how worried they were about their car, bank account, or career when they were faced with a life and death situation. They almost always talk about their husband, wife, kids, or extended family.
Tips to Attaining a Supportive Family
A simple tip to attaining a happier and more supportive family life is to simply spend time with family. Try and repair broken relationships if you do not feel comfortable spending time with family members. Getting close, and knowing your family on a level that no one else does will do wonders for a more peaceful family life. While you may not always agree with them, you can always love them no matter the situation. Do fun activities that will not cause an argument, and try to enjoy one another’s company no matter the history. Make an effort to spend time with your family at least once a week, playing games, cooking dinner, watching movies, or enjoying the outdoors together.
