The 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet, also known as the Martha’s Vineyard Diet Detox, was developed by Roni DeLuz. The diet promises participants will lose a pound a day, or 21 at the end of the 21 days, all while detoxing the body.* This is done with specific drinks and nutrients sold with the 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet.
The premise of the 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet is to rest, reduce, and rebuild. The rest is no exercise and not chewing food, the reduce is the restriction of calories with this all liquid diet, and the rebuild is what is said to happen to the cells of the body once the 21 days are done. Additionally, a once per week organic coffee enema is required.
DeLuz contends that everyone should do a 21-day detox each year, a seven-day detox each season, and a weekend detox every week. This is said to help revitalize the body and provide plenty of energy.
Do Dieters Lose Weight On The 21 Pounds In 21 Days Diet?
Because the 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet is virtually an all-liquid diet, there is almost no way at least some weight won’t come off. However, this type of weight loss would be almost all water weight loss and would be very easily put back on as soon as the 21 days were over and a dieter returned to a more normal diet that consists of solid foods.*
Is The 21 Pounds In 21 Days Diet Easy To Follow?
The 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet is easy as far as the drinks and liquid meals consumed while on the diet are provided. However, the diet itself will be almost unbearable to all. Because it is an all-liquid diet, cravings for solid food will likely occur frequently. In addition, there is very little protein in the drinks, which means headaches can occur often. Not to mention the organic coffee enemas. This is not a comfortable process and having to do it weekly will have many even less inclined to stick to the 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet.
The 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet might create some weight loss, but this type of weight loss is often not safe. With such a high level of liquids and no solid foods to speak of, your body will feel fatigued and any weight that does come off will be water weight or worse, muscle mass.
The human body is not meant to survive on only liquids for such an extended period of time. In fact, many of the most popular “cleanse” diets out today are only for about 10 days, making the 21 Pounds in 21 Days Diet twice as long. At $119 for the program, it simply isn’t a health-wise choice to make in regards to weight loss.
