It is all about decreasing bloat, burning fat, and taking inches off your stomach in just one month’s time. You can start any time, which is what they market hard, but isn’t that true with any diet program? You can start whenever you are ready, so this statement is pretty irrelevant considering that any diet can be started at any time. They claim to take the best information from the best designed diet programs.* The first step they say is to eliminate bloating foods from your diet within these 28 days on the program. Foods such as sugar, soda, processed foods, dairy, and alcohol should be eliminated completely; next add in healthy foods and a great breakfast to start off your day with healthy fats like a half of an avocado.

Your lunch will have a lot of fruits and veggies, and dinners will allow you to eat ½ cup of grains along with a high protein meal. You will be allowed two snacks per day, which include nuts or nut butter. The secret sauce they call the “veggie flush,” which you are allowed to drink all day. Lastly, there is a 12-hour fasting challenge, which they claim most bodybuilders practice daily and lasts from 9:00pm to 9:00am. As far as exercise is concerned, there is a plank challenge to help strengthen your core, but no other structured exercise program is offered or required. They designed this plan with a couple of things in mind: to eliminate bloating foods in order to lose inches, strive for healthy breakfast with healthy fats, lunches with fruit and fiber combos and a high protein dinner with whole grains. Also offered are stomach shrinking snacks, and a veggies flush you can drink all day long.

During this 28-day long challenge you will have to eliminate: Sugar, Diet Soda, Alcohol, Packaged and Processed Foods, as well as any Dairy from your diet. Healthy nuts and nut butters are encouraged as snacks throughout the day.

The Veggie Flush Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Spinach
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 2 Celery Stalks
  • 1 Pear With Skin
  • Juice of 1 Lemon

Instructions: Blend two cups of spinach and two cups of water. Next, add in one cucumber and the two celery stalks together. Finally add in the pear with skin and the juice from the lemon and blend thoroughly.

Do Dieters Lose Weight On The 28-Day Diet?

This program consists of three meals and two light snacks if needed. The diet is also referred to as a challenge because it does not really cost any money and is seen of more as a 28-day challenge group put on by Dr. Oz. There have been some challengers who have seen success, while others were just middle of the road. The idea behind the diet tries to set someone up for success, but they have to be willing to put in the work and time at the kitchen counter, as well as prepare and plan for meals ahead of time.

Is The 28-Day Diet Easy To Follow?

The overall idea seems simple, but the real work lies in all of the meal prep and planning that will go on. Overall this diet/challenge seems to have all of the right intentions to help someone lose weight, but it is exactly as it sounds – a simple challenge. It may not help you lose weight long term and keep it off, as it seems of more a simple detox. The premises for the challenge can be taken into your normal life after the 28 days, but the likelihood of that happening may be slim. The good news it is free of charge, so you really have nothing to lose in this area! The large claims made by Dr. Oz are not surprising, as he states that the diet is formulated by some of the best diets on the market today, of which he never gives their names. Large claims and a lot of work ahead describe this 28-day diet.
