The glycemic index measures how a food with carbohydrates raises blood glucose. The lower the count on the glycemic index, the better. You want to keep your count at about 55 or less for each food. Meats and fats do not have a GI count, as they do not contain carbohydrates. You will notice the foods in the Military Diet menu below have been outlined with their count for you. Keep in mind: some of the original 3-Day Diet ingredients have been replaced with low-glycemic substitutes.
