80 10 10 Diet Review

The 80/10/10 Diet is a raw vegan style diet that was created by Dr. Douglas Graham. Dr. Graham contends that in order to lose weight and feel your best you should be eating a raw diet that consists of 80% carbohydrates, 10% fats, and 10% proteins.

The 80/10/10 Diet differs from many raw vegan diets in that most of the food that is eaten is large quantities of fruits. For example, one meal might consist of a pound of watermelon. Also, up to one pound of leafy greens are recommended each day. This is necessary to achieve the proper amount of daily calories.

In addition to eating the raw vegan way, Dr. Graham says it is necessary to exercise each day. Aerobic exercise is a must on a daily basis and weight training is also recommended at least three times per week. According to Dr. Graham, if you are not working out on a daily basis then you are not following the 80/10/10 Diet properly.

Do Dieters Lose Weight on the 80 10 10 Diet?

Dieters who seriously undertake the 80/10/10 Diet will almost certainly lose weight. The fact that daily calories are slashed and exercising is a daily activity will see almost anyone lose weight. However, the weight that is lost might not be lost in the safest manner possible as eating all fruits and vegetables is a somewhat shaky way to diet.

Is the 80 10 10 Diet Easy to Follow?

The 80/10/10 Diet is likely one of the hardest diets to follow. Just the fact that you will only be allowed to eat fruits and vegetables will probably prove too much to handle. This will mean many cravings on a daily basis and unless the diet is followed verbatim, the end results will not be good.

Additionally, those who don’t have a lot of time to spare will likely find the diet hard to follow due to the exercise requirements. Just working out several days per week can be challenging, but working out every day is a commitment that many simply can’t make.

Conclusion

The 80/10/10 Diet book costs $29.95, but the costs will not stop there. Eating several pounds of various fresh fruits and vegetables every day means your grocery bill will go through the roof. It also means lots of trips to the grocery store as you can only keep so many perishables in your fridge at one time.

But more than the cost of the 80/10/10 Diet, safety should be looked at. The human body was meant to eat both vegetables and meats. While raw vegan diets can prove to help with weight loss, many nutritional experts agree that losing weight on a diet that consists of a healthy mix of all types of foods is the best and safest way to approach weight loss.
