Chris Powell, who is known for his appearance on the hit television show Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, is the creator of the Choose to Lose Diet: The 7-Day Carb Cycle Solution. According to Powell, it is a myth that you need to avoid carbohydrates in order to lose weight.
With the Choose to Lose Diet, a dieter actually alternates between days of high-carbohydrate meals and low-carbohydrate meals, which is said to confuse the body and prompt weight loss. Each day is different, with the exception of breakfast, which is always supposed to be high in carbohydrates. On average, women get to consume 1,200 calories on low-carb days and 1,500 on high-carb days, with men getting 1,500 and 2,000 calories respectively. When followed properly, the Choose to Lose Diet promises a significant amount of weight loss.*
Do Dieters Lose Weight On The Choose To Lose Diet?
Dieters on the Choose to Lose Diet will lose weight, if they follow the plan properly.* This will be due first to the fact that the diet restricts calories to a lower than normal amount. In addition, the Choose to Lose Diet calls for six days per week of a “Shredder” workout of moderate to intense aerobic exercise that lasts for half an hour. Plus, dieters are required to do an extra ten minutes of muscle toning exercises known as the “Shaper” workout on their low-carb days.
Is The Choose To Lose Diet Easy To Follow?
The Choose to Lose Diet is not as easy to follow as it might seem at first glance. While it is true that there is technically nothing off limits, dieters still need to monitor their consumption each day in accordance with what is to be eaten, and make sure the proper amount of foods are being consumed.
Also, the Choose to Lose Diet calls for a lot of working out. Six days per week with three of those days calling for double workouts. This might be more than a beginner can handle and might make the diet plan itself unmanageable.
The Choose to Lose Diet book retails for $24.99, and is an interesting take on the whole low-carb, high-carb diet plan. However, the results that would come with the Choose to Lose Diet would only be due to a reduction in calories and the required intense workouts. This can easily be accomplished with another program that covers nutrition in much greater detail, teaching you to eat properly as well as eat less, and how to exercise according to your specific level of fitness.
