The Eat Clean Diet was invented by Tosca Reno who wrote a book titled the same. Her diet plan stems from her own personal experiences that took her from being a 200 pound overweight and unhealthy woman to a slim and trim swimsuit model. The idea behind the diet is to eat foods that are in their natural, or clean, form. For example, a tomato would be a clean food where ketchup would not be. So, the cleaner the foods the better. The Eat Clean Diet also restricts things like alcohol, refined sugars, saturated fats, and anything that has been refined.
While the Eat Clean Diet doesn’t actually make you count calories, there is guidance in that area. Reno also stresses the importance of exercising. In fact, she highlights the need to begin weight lifting no less than three times per week for at least 30 minutes per session.

However, because there isn’t really a need to count calories the weight loss that does occur is likely to happen slowly. It might even be inconsistent after a short while. Is The Eat Clean Diet Easy To Follow?
The Eat Clean Diet requires you to change your lifestyle in a dramatic way. While the change is a good one, it is sometimes a hard change to make and an even harder change to maintain in the long-term. Furthermore, the Eat Clean Diet requires a good deal of strenuous exercise to be done. This is something that can be a bit much, especially if you are new to the fitness game. It will require reading the book, prepping, planning, and putting it all together to see any results long term. To keep the weight off you will need to repeat week after week, or it acts like just “another” diet than failed. The steps in the book are not layed out easily for the reader to instantly know what their plan of action will be. This can cause problems for people who are busy with work and kids.
The Eat Clean Diet is one that comes with plenty of costs. To start with you will have to buy the book itself for around $17. If you want guidance on how to prepare your meals, you can get several cookbooks, each costing around $20. Additionally you can buy an exercise DVD that highlights the favorite exercises of Reno herself for another $20.
The costs don’t stop there though. Because you will be eating a lot of fresh foods that means you can expect to pay dearly more for those foods. In fact, some of the clean foods you will eat will likely only be available at specialty stores which will also add to your costs.
The Eat Clean Diet is a well balanced diet and teaches you how to eat better and that exercise is good for you. However, it is not an easy diet to do by any means. Only the most dedicated and patient should attempt it as it is not a diet that can be done for quick and easy weight loss.
