Healthywage is a website that holds contests that pay dieters to lose weight. Dieters can choose to participate as an individual or as a team, but there are always ongoing contests for those who qualify. In order to qualify, a dieter or group has to be weighed by an approved physician or health club, and must then report back in one year’s time to be re-weighed. Periodic weigh-ins are also required.
While many prizes that are given out are paid for by the sponsors of the Healthywage website, dieters can choose to “Supersize” their winnings by investing their own money. The money invested is held in escrow with Citibank, and is left untouched for a year. At the end of the year, if the dieter achieves all set goals (the bet) they win back their money and then some. If they drop out at any time during the year or fail to meet the set goals, they forfeit the money.

Weight loss success, as always, will be up to each individual dieter, but when there is money on the line, the motivation to lose weight is likely going to be greater. However, there are a number of factors that come with weight loss, including proper diet and exercise that should be undertaken by each individual dieter. Since Healthywage is in this not just to motivate, but to also make money, there is no guidance offered.*
Is The Healthywage Diet Easy To Follow?
Healthywage is made very easy to use, which stands to reason, as they make more money when more people participate. An interested dieter simply goes to the Healthywage website and places a weight loss bet. Then, they need only decide if they want the standard prize or they really want to go for it and risk a bit of their own capital.
However, what is not easy is figuring out what kind of diet and exercise is going to be right for each individual dieter and again, Healthywage does not help. For that, the dieter is on their own.
Healthywage has a great idea in the fact that money motivates. However, without being on the proper diet and exercise regimen, losing weight in such a manner will come with some risks. For instance, a dieter who is close on their weight loss goals and borderline on winning money or losing money might take drastic, and even unhealthy, measures in order to win.
While money motivation is great, you are better off finding a program to use that will not risk your money or health, but might still offer a contest where you can be motivated to lose weight with the lure of prizes. While it might not seem like it, there are plenty out there, all you have to do is look.
