Jimmy Joy Claims
There are minimal claims made on the website overall. They do talk about what the product is made with and why it is important for consumption.
“Made from real food. Plenny shake contains a carefully chosen mix of ingredients including proteins, carbs, fats, vitamins, and minerals that your body needs to stay healthy. They are sourced from oats, soy, flaxseed, and milk, while real flash dried fruit powder makes for that awesome taste. Finally, we added a custom blend of 27 essential vitamins and minerals to make it all complete. You’re welcome, body.” [1]
The company also says that all of the vitamins and minerals present in the shake hit the European Union’s daily intake of nutrients numbers, which means the shakes won’t deprive you of any nutrition. There are very minimal claims being made about the actual effectiveness of the product itself, but they are rather pointed towards food being a hassle. CEO Rohn says,
“Food. Love it or hate it, you can’t live without it. Extensive research (no, not just a quick search on Google) has shown that meals eat up approximately 231,575.34 hours of your life. Just think of all that time that you could have spent solving world peace, becoming a dog whisperer, or finishing medical school.” [2]
They also claim,
“Plenny Shake is developed and manufactured for regular adult consumers. Please consult with your doctor if you have any doubts about whether you should drink it or not. Plenny Shake is not intended for children under the age of 18 or women in pregnancy. Plenny Shake contains Whey Protein concentrate, which contains small amounts of cow milk, lactose and soy lecithin. Plenny Shake also contains soy flour, full of soy protein, and oat flour, which may contain gluten and traces of nuts and peanuts.” [3]
According to policy, the sport version of the Plenny shake is not allowed in the United States, so this is their only product that cannot be shipped here. This is because of the ingredient glucosamine sulfate, which is not approved by the FDA but is found in the ingredient list. What is glucosamine sulfate? According to RX list,
back to menu ↑“Glucosamine sulfate is a naturally occurring chemical found in the human body. It is in the fluid that is around joints. Glucosamine is also found in other places in nature. For example, the glucosamine sulfate that is put into dietary supplements is often harvested from the shells of shellfish.” [4]

back to menu ↑The Science (or Lack Thereof) Behind Jimmy Joy
There are no claims made that need to be backed by a study from the website. The whole concept of drinking your calories throughout the day instead of eating them is rather new to the scene. Nowhere on the main site do they provide any background information as to how they came up with their formula in the first place. The idea that you should do away with food in the first place is rather crazy, and I think it won’t ever catch on like they are hoping it will. There is, however, a large amount of protein per serving which is around 45 g per meal. This will keep you filled for longer periods of time.
Jimmy Joy Plenny Shake review reveals a positive sentiment, with many finding it to be a practical solution for busy lifestyles or as a quick post-workout drink.
back to menu ↑Word On The Street About Jimmy Joy
When looking into honest reviews by people outside of the main website, they were very few and far between. Many people on Reddit found that the product did work well, but some people really were sick of the flavors and the aftertaste it would give off. Others complained that the consistency was very hard to swallow if you did not blend it up first, as the shaker cup just wouldn’t do the job. Overall, however, there was a positive vibe and many people were agreeing with each other that Jimmy Joy’s has a pretty good shake in the end. One of the big problem is that production happens overseas, so the shipping is going to be expensive and take long because it is not sold anywhere in the United States. Ilari (2017, 3 star),
“Filling, satisfying and the taste is okay. Will be a good lazy day meal replacement and an emergency meal for hikes. The only problem is the sweetener, the presence of artificial sweeteners with the tagline “made with real food” is misleading IMO. I wish there was a version of the Jimmy Joys without the horrible aftertaste of sucralose.” [9]
Brenda (2017, 5 star),
“Love your product, (huge fan of the chocolate!) but I am not a huge fan of the packaging of the powder. Trying to scoop the powder out of the zipper is near impossible without getting on my hand and then all over my counter. But all in all the product is great. Very filling and has a great taste that is not ruined by a bunch of sweetness.” [9]
There were very few reviews posted anywhere about this company and their products, but the ones I was able to find highlighted the overall customer experience. They are promoting a greener and cleaner environment, as well as a more simple and effortless way to get nutrients throughout your busy workday. Weight loss is not at the pinnacle of their marketing tactic, but it was mentioned as a result if you just drink their shakes and nothing more. This will not work for everyone, but it is an option if you are looking for an alternative way to get fed.
back to menu ↑The Bottom Line: Is Jimmy Joy Worth A Try?
Yes. This company seems innovative, quirky, and new to the scene, which means they are changing constantly. Even though shipping time seems to take a while, it might not be a terrible option to try out if you are in the market for a liquid diet. Some quivered at the consistency of the shakes, and didn’t dare leave them in the refrigerator overnight due to the thickening effect that takes place. Others thought they tasted good enough to keep on drinking them day after day to save time, money, and energy, all while getting the nutrients they need throughout the day. This shake does not come with any side effects, and it should be pretty easy on the stomach overall. There is nothing dangerous about them, but if you get the sport version be mindful that it contains glucosamine sulfate as well as creatine, if you are not wanting to ingest those two ingredients.
