Parisian Diet Review

Parisian Diet Review
Reading Time: 2 minutesComing straight from France, Dr. Jean-Michael Cohen brings the “secrets” of the French diet, which revolves around enjoying all food that is eaten, in the Parisian Diet. Dr. Cohen is one of the leading nutrition experts in France and uses what he calls weight loss secrets to help participants lose the weight they desire. The ten secrets that Dr. Cohen touts are enjoy your food, take time for meals, eat proper portion sizes, don’t watch television while eating, stay physically active, eat fresh foods, drink water, compensate for indulgences, prepare meals at home, and eat more fruit.

The Parisian Diet is actually broken up into three phases, all designed for a specific purpose. The first optional phase is the “Café Phase” which is for quick weight loss and lasts eight to ten days. This phase has the participant consuming almost all liquids. The second phase is the “Bistro Phase” which is three weeks long and has the participant consume a lot of high fiber and high protein foods. The third, and final, phase is the “Gourmet Phase” which is designed to have meals be pleasurable all while leading you to your ideal weight.

Do Dieters Lose Weight on the Parisian Diet?

Dieters who choose to undertake the Parisian Diet are almost certain to lose weight, at least in the short-term. Of course, this is all contingent on the participant being able to muster through the first two phases, which are very restrictive, as well as be able to commit to daily work out sessions of at least 30 minutes.

Is the Parisian Diet Easy to Follow?

The Parisian Diet is the type of diet that gets easier for a participant according to how long they are on the diet. At first, the initial phase of consuming nothing but smoothies, and other liquids, might prove to be a bit too hard for those used to eating a lot of calories on a daily basis. Though it is an optional phase, even the second phase will require a lot of willpower as many favorite food groups are totally excluded.

Another factor that might prove challenging to some is the exercise that is recommended. The Parisian Diet recommends at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. While the exercises that are recommended are not necessarily all that hard, the time commitment might prove to be. This can be a challenge for those who have a fast paced lifestyle.

Conclusion

The Parisian Diet book itself costs $26. Additionally, there is an online resource that can be used at the cost of $29 per month, with a six month minimum commitment. However, if you look at what you get, it might not add up. Sure, drinking water, exercising every day, eating smaller portions, and the like might lead to weight loss, but do you really need to pay the fees to get this basic nutritional information? While the French may enjoy their food, it is skeptical that they have these types of “phases” in their everyday lives, which makes the Parisian Diet a bit suspect.
