Performix SST Claims
On the website there are many claims made about the terra technology, and how it is supposed to work in the body.
“PERFORMIX ™ SST v2X delivers an immediate surge of extreme energy that will propel your performance beyond what you thought possible. Terra Time-Release Technology sustains this powerful stimulant effect in multiple phases for extended benefits.”
They claim this SST supplement will give you heightened mental focus, advanced fat metabolism, and unrelenting energy.
“This next-level formula is designed to ignite your metabolism for a truly ripped physique. Achieve your ultimate body composition goals with unparalleled fat burning and lean muscle development.”
“DO NOT USE IF PREGNANT, NURSING, OR PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT. THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED FOR USE BY HEALTHY ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 18 AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED BY THOSE SENSITIVE TO CAFFEINE OR OTHER INGREDIENTS THAT HAVE KNOWN STIMULANT EFFECTS. Do not use this product continuously for more than 8 weeks. Do not combine with alcohol. Not intended for use by those with a medical condition. Use only as directed.”
Another claim made regarding the Terra technology,
“These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Key ingredients in this formula help promote thermogenesis, boost energy levels, and stimulate calorie burning. This product is to be used in conjunction with a healthy reduced calorie diet and regular exercise plan. The degree of improvement varies by individual and is related to your diet, exercise, daily activities, age, and body frame.”
While all these claims are made about the product, there is actually no point of sale on the official website. They push you over to GNC for more information on the product, and a place to purchase. The science is nowhere to be found on the website, nor in any other outside studies. The packaging for the product looks fancy, which is one of the reasons why the SST Performix sells.
Performix SST Ingredients
Performix™ Terra Intelligent Dosing™ Super Suspension Bead Thermo Blend, Caffeine Anhydrous (300 mg), Theacrine (as TeaCrine®), p-Synephrine (as KINETIQ™ Citrus aurantium (fruit) extract), Evodiamine, yohimbine HCL, BioPerine® Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) extract (fruit)[std. to 95% Piperine], Performix™ SST Oil Diffusion, Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) extract (std. 78% Conjugated Linoleic Acid), D-Limonene (Orange peel extract), Ginger (Zingiber officinalis) CO2, SuperCritical Extract (supplying Gingerols, Zingerones, and Shogaols), and Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) extract (leaf)(supplying Carnosic Acid, Carnosol, Ursolic Acid, and Oleanolic Acid).
The Science (or Lack Thereof) Behind Performix SST
They claim the science lies in the Terra Bead Technology, and there are visuals on the site as well as Lucky Vitamin on how the bead is layered.
According to Amazon,
“Terra Coating is a micro layering technology that allows each dose to be released in pH activated stages. This creates precision delivery of our pure extracts at multiple calculated points when your body is receptive. As your stomach acid dissolves each microlayer, perfectly timed nutrients are delivered, giving our extracts the ability to last longer and enhance your performance evenly and effectively.”
When looking at the different illustrations regarding the Terra Bead Technology, it was rather vague, but explained that there is a large dispersion coating that causes that extended release of ingredients so the supplement does not hit your system all at one time. The hydrophilic coat inside of the dispersion coat also has a slow release formula, as well as the core which is filled with the terra ingredients.
There are no studies done or shown on how this actually works in the body, so we are left with illustrations.
So how exactly does the product give you heightened mental focus?
The caffeine that is present is meant to give you that focus, or those jitters in some people’s cases. In 1 serving (2 capsules), you are getting over 300 mg of caffeine! Wow! This is a lot of caffeine to ingest all at one time, which is why your energy is supposed to kick up and increase. Are there ties regarding consuming caffeine and weight loss? A random study was done with 76 individuals to test the effects of caffeine and weight loss in the body. There was a four week time period where the subjects were on a strict diet, and then three months for weight management. During the weight management phase, participants were given a green tea/caffeine mixture, and others were given a placebo pill.
“High caffeine intake was associated with weight loss through thermogenesis and fat oxidation and with suppressed leptin in women. In habitual low caffeine consumers, the green tea-caffeine mixture improved Weight Management, partly through thermogenesis and fat oxidation.”
This said nothing about energy levels and focus, but there was weight that was maintained healthily after the dieting stopped. They do claim above that it will give you advanced fat metabolism, which rings true from this study.
Although the metabolism is becoming slightly stimulated, it is not enough for a person to take the pills and then receive a chiseled and ripped body as stated above. In order to attain the chiseled look like a bodybuilder, some serious diet habits need to take over.
When looking into a study done on bodybuilding, metabolism, and how the body reacts, it was broken down by caloric consumption. It is stated, “Every pound of pure body fat that is metabolized yields approximately 3500 kcals, thus a daily caloric deficit of 500 kcals theoretically results in fat loss of approximately one pound per week if the weight loss comes entirely from body fat.”
Why does this matter?
Attaining that ripped look that this diet pill markets will entail much more than simply taking two capsules per day. This look many are going for requires nutrients and certain times of the day with meal frequency, certain hydration requirements, and supplementation on top of a strict exercise routine. They make it sound easy, but it is truly a skill that many people focus their entire day upon. Weight loss will be gradual as stated above from the findings of the study, as long as you follow a strict plan.
Due to the high levels of stimulants found in the ingredient list (p-Synephrine, yohimbine HCL, and caffeine) it will work as a thermogenic. This does not come without side effects however, so be mindful if you are sensitive to caffeine or other stimulants affecting you negatively. Common side effects are increased heart rate, trouble breathing, high blood pressure, headaches, and feeling nauseous. While the claims made by the company are shallow, what are the claims made by the customers?
Word On The Street About Performix SST
When looking into Performix SST reviews they all sang the same tune, which was that this pill is just caffeine. The other ingredients listed have no proof they work for overall weight loss, which is why it left many people skeptical. Sure, it can give you energy and rev up your metabolism, but for how long? The list of side effects was enough for me to decide against purchasing this diet product, as it might only leave you feeling sick to your stomach.
Taylor (5.2.16, 3 star) said,
“This product is okay for eliminating water weight and generally energy. That said, I didn't lose any weight with this supplement, which is what I imagine most people are looking for. Given the price, I wouldn't buy again.”
Tammara (4.29.17, 1star) said,
“I bought this product thinking I would get some energy to help with my performance as a runner. The only thing I got from it was a racing heart and a full day of feeling like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. I was so anxious for the entire day, I could not work. I reduced the dosage and still nothing. I firmly believe that the product is a rip off and I should get my money back.”
James (7.20.17, 2 star) said,
“It was really nothing but a caffeine boost. The slow release part of the formula kept me awake at night. I was training two times a day while taking it, so it was not for lack of trying to be tired. So if you want a bunch of caffeine that lasts the whole day, this is for you.”
The Bottom Line: Is Performix SST Worth A Try?
Risky. No, this supplement is not worth the time and money after digging deep into the facts. It is simply a slow release caffeine supplement, and the other ingredients listed are really not proven to help you lose any weight. The side effects were consistent among customers, and the science behind how the slow release formula actually works is non existent. It feels as if the company is working to make the customer believe in something that is unproven. The result won’t be in fat loss, but in jitters. My recommendation is to go get caffeine pills if you are just needing quick caffeine, but do not waste your time and energy with this expensive supplement. Be mindful of the side effects caffeine can cause in your body.
