The Blue Zones Diet Review

The Blue Zones Diet is based on the belief that in order to live a long and healthy life, a dieter should follow the diet of those who are living the longest. That is precisely what Dan Buettner, a National Geographic Explorer, did in this revolutionary book.

Buettner traveled the globe to study and learn from people in Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Costa Rica; and Loma Linda, California. His results in the book covers what each region of the globe eats, and why these particular sects are outliving the rest of the world simply by eating what they do.

Do Dieters Lose Weight On The Blue Zones Diet?

The Blue Zones Diet book has a number of diets that can be followed, depending at which region the dieter looks. For example, if they like what people are eating in Okinawa, Japan, which is rice, soy, and fish, then they might lose some weight if those items reduce their daily caloric intake.* However, any weight loss of significance would only come to those who ate right and incorporated exercising.

Is The Blue Zones Diet Easy To Follow?

The Blue Zones Diet is an interesting book to read, but it offers little in the way of actual nutrition. There is no specific plan to follow and there are no meal plans either; therefore, dieters will be on their own to choose which type of diet highlighted in the book they feel is best for them, and will also be on their own in regards to meal preparations.

Additionally, The Blue Zones Diet book makes absolutely no mention about exercising. While some of the foods and diets in the book might be good to add to a nutrition plan, without being combined with proper exercising, weight loss will not be achieved to its fullest potential.*

The Blue Zones Diet book offers a unique look at health and longevity, but as a diet book, it is not all that great. It can be bought online for around $12, but if you are looking for a program that offers advice and guidance on nutrition, then you’ll have to keep looking. Not to mention, you will have no help in the fitness department with The Blue Zones Diet book. So, even though the book is interesting and not that expensive, you will be far better off going with a program or system that offers guidance in both nutrition and fitness, and not just an interesting look at why some cultures might live longer than others.
