Viatropin is a male enhancement supplement that is meant to boost overall hormone production in the body. It also aims to help burn fat in the body, as well as enhance the libido by promoting healthy blood flow throughout the body.
It’s not available at your local nutrition shop or gym. In fact, while it was once available on Amazon, the only place to currently purchase Viatropin is on a web-ad with all the shiny pictures of Mr. Universe wannabes and capital-letter buzzwords and “supplies are limited, get yours TODAY!!”
Then after a little digging, you find the Terms (but only if you have an Affiliate ID or put in some bogus address information just to get past the page):
By placing your order you will be receiving a 14 day evaluation of for the price of $4.99! We stand by our satisfaction Guarantee and our friendly customer service. You will also be enrolling into our convenient auto ship program once your evaluation expires. You understand that you are subscribing to a monthly shipment program and you will be charged $89.99 per month starting 14 days from today and every 30 days thereafter unless cancelled. (emphasis added)
This is called “negative option marketing,” and it is a widespread scam in the supplement industry today.
There is no information on the manufacturer that makes this supplement, but the name we are given from the order site is eNutra. There is no main website for this company, but they do have a Better Business Bureau profile, opened back in 2012.
eNutra is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, but the address for returns is Mesa, Arizona. They received an F rating due to their hidden autoship program and nonexistent customer service.
Company Contact Information: (888) 393-5920, [email protected], 1225 W Main St. #101-604, Mesa, AZ 85201.
Viatropin—the safe and effective way to enhance muscles and your sex life! At some point in your life you may have experienced a bad sexual experience. You might have wanted to perform at your best but couldn’t. This can be very embarrassing. The experience can also leave you feeling depressed. Worse yet, it can leave you feeling like you never want to do it again.
So we start off with a complete downer…but then, miracle time!
[Viatropin] provides nutrients to the sexual parts. This in turn makes the blood vessels calmer. The erection will be bigger and the penis will be harder. You will have more circulation to the penis. Another added bonus is that erections will last much longer. Your partner will absolutely love that!
It can also stop early ejaculation and increase your stamina during physical and sexual activity. By slowing down the production of hormones your levels can be controlled. Viatropin also…usually works within 30 minutes of taking it. The effects also last for up to 3 days. You can enjoy all the benefits for hours and not have to worry about it stopping the next day.
Maybe this is just me, but three days seems like an awfully long time, when there are Viagra ads warning about four hours.
There are also claims about how the product works in three stages:
- Viatropin permeates the bloodstream
- The ingredients spread throughout your body and increase testosterone
- More energy is a result with increased muscle mass, increased sex drive, and decreased body fat.
Well, we all know that body fat never just melts away, no matter what you’re taking. And nobody looks as cut as the model pictures all the time—not even the models.
We’ll take a quick detour for a summary, because it is important to realize. Most fitness models and competitive bodybuilders purposely dehydrate themselves before a photoshoot or competition, because getting rid of the excess water in the body is what makes the muscles pop like that. Over the two weeks prior they load up on salt, drop carbs almost completely, rely on their creatine supplements for any semblance of energy, then go no-salt and drink a lot of water to flush their systems, and then drop the water to bare survival levels for the two days before. And then they load up on dry carb sources for those last two days as well.
And most of them feel awful until they get the shoot or competition over with and they can rehydrate.
Now back to the review.
Finally, Viatropin claims that its ingredients have been clinically tested and proven to work over long periods of time, but they give no insight to those studies. Only a claim, “They are 100% natural just like the food we eat every day. You can buy Viatropin with confidence and know you are using a safe and effective product.”
The recommended dosage is to take two supplements per day 30 minutes before working out in the morning, and then again before bedtime. There is not one retailer currently selling Viatropin—only a string of normal-looking-but-shady web sales pages offering a free trial and that autoship scam.
Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate AAKG, L-CKG, Arginine Ketoisocaproate A-KIC, and Ornithine Alpha Ketoglutarate OKG.
The Science (or Lack Thereof) Behind Viatropin
Viatropin claims there are many clinical trials backing up this product, but I didn’t find any. In the Scientific Men’s Review, they claim that there are side effects when taking viatropin, but it is only in individuals who already have health issues.
However, if you look at the references the Scientific Men’s Review cites at the end of their review, it does take you to two studies on individual ingredients in Viatropin. So let’s look at them.
The first study, published in the July 2008 Journal of Sexual Medicine, talks about Nitric Oxide (not to be confused with Nitrous Oxide, the gas used in dental offices and street racers). Nitric Oxide is a product of l-Arginine in the body, and the study concluded—after a great deal of complicated research-ese—that l-arginine combined with another substance called vardenafil, “may provide a novel therapeutic strategy for the treatment of erectile dysfunction as well as endothelial dysfunction in general.”
Endothelial cells form the linings of the blood vessels.
Livestrong.com points out that the ingredient Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AAKG) is different than l-arginine. But the l-arginine science above is worth noting because “AAKG separates into l-arginine and AKG in the intestines and is equivalent to taking both separately.” So we’ll continue.
Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate (AKG) is “…one of the primary ways your body produces energy and raw materials.”
But, “A 2006 study by Campbell et al. found that AAKG increases maximum strength in male athletes. Large clinical trials are generally lacking for the purported uses of L-arginine or AAKG.” No citation is given for that study mentioned.
The other study cited by Scientific Men’s Review is about Ornithine Alpha Ketoglutarate (OKG). It was published in the Journal of Exercise Physiology Online in October 2000. Just a quick couple of snips from this one, though the entire article is available in PDF if you want to wade through a lot of science-ese.
OKG is an ionic salt that contains two molecules of ornithine and one molecule of alpha-ketoglutarate. Ornithine, an amino acid, is required for the normal functioning of the urea cycle, where ammonia is trapped to form urea. …
Note: Urea are crystals formed to trap ammonia, a body waste resulting from protein breakdown, which are then excreted in the urine. OKG supplements are touted to improve strength, power, and body composition. But, the study concludes
OKG did not alter insulin or growth hormone blood concentrations after six weeks in experienced weight-trained men. OKG does not result in increased training intensity, training volume, or muscle mass in free-living men. OKG effects on strength are unclear since bench press performance improved but squat performance did not. (emphasis added)
Word On The Street About Viatropin
Does Viatropin even work? This is a very confusing supplement to say the least; there is no main website for the maker eNutra, and no solid place to purchase the supplement. On Amazon.com there were a few reviews left from folks who bought the supplement when it was available there, but none of them were positive.
“Michael D Donato” (2017, 1 star) said, “After buying this product I saw the EXACT same ad, but with another product put in its place. The ad was the same and the reviews were the same. Same names same content. I threw the viatropin away. I can’t speak to viatropin’ effectiveness as I only used about a week’s worth of it before I saw the duplicate ad.”
“Stephen J. D” (2017, 1 star) bought Viatropin thinking that the product would have the ingredients they marketed (shown above) and instead they gave him an entirely different set of ingredients with the exact same product label that Viatropin markets.
“Zero stars – Buyer Beware. I received this May 5, 17 and immediately notified ENUTRA that the advertised ingredients are not what was actually listed in their product. ENUTRA expected me to pay for the return; Amazon was great with their support; ENUTRA was non-responsive. I got a full refund and they had to pay for the return.
As of today; May 15, 17 – ENUTRA is still advertising inaccurate ingredients. They are advertising the following: [ingredients list above]…
What I received is the following:
Niacin 20 mg
L-Arginine HCL 200 mg
Epimedium Herb 50 mg
Tribulus Terrestris 50 mg
Saw Palmetto 50 mg
Mucuna Pruriens 25 mg
Maca Root 25 mg
Cnidium 25 mg
Ashwawgandha 25 mg
Cinnamon Bark 25 mg
Pumpkin Seed Pow[d]er 25 mg
I have been studying and successfully using workout supplements for over 18 years; not one study and based on my personal use and success resulted in this low of quantities; “MUCH” larger quantities of these ingredients are required.
If I knew what the actual ingredients were, if ENUTRA advertised it correctly; I would have never purchased this product in the first place.” (clarification added)
The Bottom Line: Is Viatropin Worth a Try?
Definitely Not. This male-enhancement supplement is not one to mess with. The ingredients are inconsistent, the place to purchase is unreliable, and you have to deal with an auto ship scam, if you can even find that to start with. There are many other more reliable and trusted testosterone boosters out there; Viatropin is not one of them.
